Growth takes work. So do healthy relationships.

This week in our Domestic Violence Intervention Program, the group planted vegetables together as a reminder that growth doesn’t happen overnight. It takes patience, accountability, consistency, and care.

Just like a garden, the way we speak, react, and treat others matters. Healthy change is built one choice at a time. Teamwork, responsibility, and learning new ways to respond under stress can create something better — both in the garden and in life. 🌱

The final rehearsal on Thursday and reveling in the afterparty glow yesterday. TEDx was the experience of a lifetime, blunders and all! To share a stage with such incredible innovation and competence surpassed anything I could have imagined. Takeaway: it’s never about perfection, but the journey of connection!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support me, to those who sent positivity from afar, and most especially, the organizers, donors, and extraordinary speakers who made TEDx Airlie possible! I love you all!!!🙏🏻🤪🙏🏻

Mental Health Awareness Month reminder:
Don’t be an ass.

Funny? Yes.
Accurate? Also yes.

Stress, burnout, anxiety, exhaustion, and overwhelm can turn the best people into someone snappy, impatient, or hard to be around. But just because life is kicking your ass doesn’t mean everyone around you deserves it too.

A bad day doesn’t have to become someone else’s bad day.

Pause before you react. Eat something. Rest. Take the walk. Drink the coffee. Breathe. Pet the donkey. Then try again.

You can be struggling and still choose kindness.
And honestly, the world could use a little more of that right now. 🤎

Happy Friday 🌿

As the week comes to a close, take a moment to reflect—not just on what you did, but on how you felt through it all.

What challenged you?
What went well?
What did you need more of?

Weekends (or your days off) aren’t just for catching up, they’re for slowing down. For resting your mind, resetting your energy, and giving yourself the care you may have pushed aside during a busy week.

You don’t have to earn rest. You need it.

Take care of yourself this weekend. 🤍

Today for Earth Day, we spent time planting tomato plants and talking about growth—how it doesn’t happen overnight, and how it requires patience, consistency, and care.

The same is true in life. Whether it’s healing, recovery, or personal change, growth often starts small and unseen before it becomes something strong.

Sometimes just showing up and planting the seed is enough. 🌱

🚗 DWI & SUMMER: THE REALITY

☀️ Warmer months = higher risk

• The “100 deadliest days” for drivers start around Memorial Day
• May, June, and July consistently see the highest number of fatal DWI crashes
• About 30–40% of summer traffic deaths involve alcohol
• Holidays like the 4th of July see nearly HALF of crashes involving alcohol

And overall—about 1 in 3 traffic deaths in the U.S. involve a drunk driver. ()

💭 Behind every statistic is a life, a family, and a story.

Make the choice:
Plan ahead. Stay safe. Don’t drive impaired.

The idea that someone can “just quit” if they really want to is one of the most common—and harmful—misconceptions about addiction.

Substance use disorders affect the brain, making it incredibly difficult to stop without support. It’s not about willpower—it’s about biology, environment, and mental health.

Recovery often takes time, support, and the right resources. And that’s okay.

💙 Compassion over judgment. Support over stigma.

☀️ Hello, April ☀️

As the days get longer and the sunshine returns, our bodies and minds begin to shift in powerful ways.

More sunlight can boost mood, improve sleep, increase energy, and even help us feel more motivated and connected. You might notice yourself wanting to get outside more, move your body, or simply breathe a little deeper.

This season is a gentle reminder that change is natural—and growth often happens in small, steady ways.

Take a moment today to soak up some sunshine, step outside, or do something that helps you feel recharged. 🌿

Your mind and body will thank you.

Mental health challenges are more common than many people realize.

In fact, research shows that about 1 in 5 adults experience a mental health condition each year. Despite how common this is, many people still struggle in silence due to stigma or fear of judgment.

Mental health is a normal part of overall health. Seeking support, talking about challenges, and learning healthy coping strategies are all important steps toward wellbeing.

If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that reaching out for help is a sign of strength — not weakness.

No one has to face these challenges alone.
