Being the responsible one in your family sounds like a compliment... until you realize you don't know how to stop.
Some peoples' brains are wired to fix things. They take up the mantle of helping everyone else feel fulfilled, while at the same time, don't or can't let something else happen. Individuals that can't shut it off often have trouble asking for help and feel an inner guilt when not being productive.
"Fixers" or "Providers" in counseling often feel responsible for helping everyone else's emotions, except their own. It's time to change that.
