I’m excited to share that I’ll be teaching a new professional course through Education Resources Inc.:

Beyond Behavior Charts: A Bottom-Up ADHD Course for Change That Lasts

This live webinar is designed for therapists who work with children with ADHD and want to move beyond behavior charts, rewards, and consequences into a deeper, brain-based understanding of what is really driving attention, regulation, and behavior.

In this course, we’ll explore how to look at ADHD through a bottom-up neurodevelopmental lens and translate that understanding into practical strategies therapists can use right away in the clinic, school, home, and community.

The course will be held live on August 10, 12, 17, and 19, 2026, and offers 12 contact hours / 1.2 CEUs through ERI. Early bird registration is available through June 29, 2026 with coupon code EARLYBIRD20.

I’m truly honored to bring this work to fellow pediatric therapists who are ready to support children with ADHD in a more compassionate, effective, and neurologically informed way.

💡 Ask the Expert

“Should my child be doing chores — or is that an outdated concept?”

In this Q&A, Mila Teshler, Pediatric OT and Founder of KidLink Therapy, shares a fresh perspective on chores — not as tasks, but as opportunities to build independence, responsibility, and confidence.

Because sometimes, the simplest routines shape the strongest skills ✨

🌟 Spotlight on Strengths 🌟

Today, during my group coaching call, I asked families to fill out a strength-based questionnaire about their children. The conversations that came out of it were so powerful.

Here’s why this matters: when kids with ADHD see themselves as capable, creative, and resourceful, their self-esteem grows. Strengths aren’t just “feel good” qualities—they become real tools kids can use to navigate challenges and build resilience.

So often, the focus is on what’s hard. But when we pause to notice what our kids can do well, we give them an anchor for their identity and a foundation for confidence.

✨ I’d love to hear—what strengths have you seen shine through in your child’s daily life?

Why Does ADHD Seem So Common Today?

Our Brains Were Built for the Wild—Not Wi-Fi.

For 90% of human history, we lived as hunter-gatherers in tight-knit tribes. Our brains got really good at scanning the horizon, reacting fast, and chasing what mattered in the moment.

Farming, Offices, and Zoom? Basically Brand-New.

Farming: 9,000 years old
Office work: 90 years old
Video calls all day: 5 years old

That’s a blink of an eye in evolution terms, so our brains haven’t had time to fully adapt.

3. ADHD Traits Were Once Superpowers.

Quick to notice change → Spotted predators (or dinner) first.
Always on the move → Helped track herds and explore new areas.
Drawn to novelty → Pushed the tribe to discover fresh food and safe spots.

4. Modern Life Flips the Script.

Now we ask those same brains to:

Sit still for hours
Stay focused on spreadsheets, homework, or endless emails
Ignore constant dings and notifications

No wonder more people are diagnosed—our environment clashes with how we’re wired.

ADHD hasn’t suddenly appeared. Our surroundings changed faster than our brains could keep up. Recognizing this “evolution mismatch” helps us shift the conversation from “What’s wrong with me?” to “How can I use the my strengths in this environment"

✋🖍️ Fine motor skills = small muscle control for BIG tasks.
These include writing, cutting, buttoning, and more. Struggles in this area can impact school success and confidence.

🏠 Try these simple at-home OT approved activities:
✔️ Play with tweezers and cotton balls
✔️ Use spray bottles and squeeze toys
✔️ Make letters in playdough or shaving cream
