Substance use claims more than 1,000 Kentucky lives every year, including just over 1,100 in 2025. At Lexington’s Gatton Park Saturday, the focus was on celebrating survival at the annual “Hope Out Loud” event.

☀️ It looks like we are going to have some beautiful—but very hot—weather today for Hope Out Loud - Recovery Awareness Day Celebration

Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, so we are sharing some things to pack to make sure everyone stays cool. Luckily Gatton Park has a great kids water play area if your family needs a reprieve.

We recommend packing:
• Reusable water bottles (hydro flasks, insulated bottles, etc.). There are water refill fountains, plus purchasable cool drinks at The BoxCar Cafe at Gatton (located right behind the stage)

• Sun protection (hats, sunglasses, personal umbrella, and plenty of sunscreen)

• Portable fans or misting fans

We will have a cooling station with cooling towels & fans, but please plan ahead so you can enjoy the day safely. See you all soon!
