Congratulations to Madalyn Stahl, one of our CeCa honorees!

Madalyn has been with Focus Health for almost 90 days, but she has already made a huge difference in the lives of her clients.

After one of her visits, a client called right away to share how wonderful Madalyn was and said she was welcome back anytime. Another client nominated her for stepping in when care had been delayed for an extended period of time.

On her very first day, Madalyn helped make the home more manageable by clearing out 13 bags of trash and creating a fresh start for the client.

Madalyn’s compassion, hard work, and willingness to jump in where she is needed truly represent the heart of caregiving.

Caregiver Spotlight: Sonya Zamora

For the last four years, Sonya Zamora has been part of the Focus Health family, providing care for the same client while also continuing her education. During that time, she has grown both personally and professionally, and we are so proud to share that she has been accepted into medical school!

Sonya shared that caregiving taught her more than she ever expected. It helped her become more patient, understanding, and adaptable, while showing her that caregiving is about so much more than helping with physical tasks.
It is about making people feel comfortable, respected, and cared for during vulnerable moments.

Her advice to new caregivers is simple but powerful:

“Do not underestimate how small acts of kindness matter. Sometimes just lending an ear to a client can make their entire day.”

Celebrating Lisa and 17 Years with Focus Healthcare

For the past 17 years, Lisa has poured her time, energy, heart, and care into Focus Healthcare.
Her journey started when a good friend told her she would be great at the job — and even though she admits she didn’t know exactly what she was applying for at the time, it became so much more than just a job.

Lisa has always had a soft spot for the elderly, and that heart showed in everything she did. Whether she was scheduling care, answering the phone, matching the right caregiver with the right client, or simply being a cheerful voice on the other end of the line, Lisa made a difference.

She shared that one of the things she will miss most is the staff, the clients she grew close to over the phone, and even the postman who always brought a smile to her day.

When asked what she hopes people remember most, Lisa said she wants to be remembered not just as a scheduler, but as a friend.

And that is exactly how we will remember her.
Lisa, thank you for 17 years of dedication, kindness, loyalty, and heart. You have been such a meaningful part of Focus Healthcare, and your impact will not be forgotten.

💍 Love has no expiration date.

Eight couples at Morningside Place in Overland Park recently renewed their vows, including Jimmie Kaye and Charlie Cummings, who have been married for nearly 60 years. 💕

Even as Jimmie Kaye lives with dementia, their love story is still being written.

"Dementia doesn't diminish their love," said Morningside Place's life engagement director Shauniece Banks White.
