4A Division II State Championship
The Liberty Lady Panthers capped off an incredible season with a dominant 12-0 victory over the Brock Lady Eagles on Friday, bringing home the 4A Division II State Championship.
Kylee Bishop led the offensive explosion, going 3-for-5 at the plate with two doubles and a single. Liberty wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, taking an early lead in the first inning when Kinley Brashier delivered an RBI single.
The Panthers extended their advantage in the third inning as Brashier ripped an RBI triple to right field and Abbie Key followed with an RBI double to center, helping Liberty take complete control of the game.
In the circle, Bayleigh Taylor was outstanding. The ace tossed six shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven and walking two. Brock struggled to generate offense against Taylor throughout the championship matchup.
Liberty’s lineup was relentless from top to bottom, finishing with 17 hits. Brashier, Bishop, and Taylor each recorded three hits, while Taylor also drove in a game-high five runs. Key and Bella Elliott added multiple hits as the Panthers continued to apply pressure all game long.Heuitt drew two walks and was 1-2 and Sthram was 1-1.
The defense was just as impressive, playing a flawless game without committing an error. Madison Thornton led the team defensively with seven chances in the field.
With the championship win, the Liberty Lady Panthers finished their season in style, using a complete team effort to overpower Brock and claim the state title. 🏆🥎💛🖤
