Quick 3pm check: are your shoulders currently trying to become earrings? If the day has been nonstop, take 30 seconds before jumping into the next thing. Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders. Take one slow breath. You don’t need to turn your whole day around. Sometimes a tiny reset is enough for the next five minutes.

Save this for your 3pm reset and visit elliementalhealth.com for more.

What happens when the version of you that got through the last chapter doesn’t quite fit anymore?
Meet Amanda Klein, LPC, one of the newest therapists joining Ellie Mental Health.

Amanda especially loves working with women navigating the chapters of adulthood that can shift how they see themselves. Career. Relationships. Motherhood. ADHD. Caregiving. Empty nesting. Changing priorities. And those quieter moments when someone realizes, 'I think I need something different now'.

Before becoming a therapist, Amanda spent more than 20 years as an educator. She brings that same ability to recognize strengths, make complicated things feel manageable, and turn insight into practical next steps. Amanda also works with couples looking to communicate differently, rebuild trust, and reconnect as their lives and relationships evolve.

Her style is warm, practical, honest, collaborative, and not afraid of a little humor. She is also pursuing her ADHD Coaching Certification to deepen her work with executive functioning, organization, motivation, and attention.
For the person you are now, and whoever you’re becoming.

Not sure where to start with therapy? That’s okay 🐘

We’re excited to welcome Samantha Bilharz, LPC to Ellie Mental Health!

Samantha works with adolescents, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship and family challenges, and those seasons when everything simply feels like a lot.

Her approach is collaborative, practical, and individualized. Samantha believes clients shouldn’t need the perfect words or have everything figured out before coming to therapy. She meets people where they are and helps them build practical tools, recognize their strengths, and figure out what comes next.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy but aren’t quite sure where to begin, Samantha might be a comfortable place to start.

Taking a day off doesn’t erase the work you’ve put in. Neither does sleeping in, saying no to an extra workout, or admitting you’re mentally tired. When your brain is telling you that you should always be doing more, rest can feel surprisingly hard. But recovery isn’t something you have to earn after pushing yourself to the limit. Your mind needs downtime, too.

Back-to-school stress doesn’t always sound like, “I’m stressed.” Sometimes it looks like pulling away from friends, struggling with sleep, losing motivation, or complaining about not feeling well. One change doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong. But if you’re noticing shifts in how your child is acting, feeling, or getting through their day, it’s worth checking in. You don’t need the perfect words. Try something simple: “I’ve noticed things seem harder lately. How are you doing?” You can start with a conversation. And if they need more support, you don’t have to figure that out alone.

The ride home after the game doesn’t always need a recap. Sometimes your kid already knows about the missed shot, the bad pass, or the time they spent on the bench. What they may need more is a reminder that none of it changes who they are. Their worth isn’t measured in goals, points, playing time, wins, or losses. And when sports start feeling like more pressure than joy, it’s okay to check in on what’s going on beyond the game.

A day off doesn’t need a to-do list. You don’t have to clean the whole house, catch up on every errand, answer those emails, and somehow become a new person by Tuesday. Rest can look like sleeping in. Sitting outside. Watching something you’ve already seen five times. Doing absolutely nothing useful for a while. If you have time to slow down this Labor Day, you’re allowed to actually use it that way. Rest doesn’t need to be earned first.

Take the rest if you can.

Back to school means busy schedules are back, too. Between practice, homework, games, and everything else, kids and parents can both feel stretched thin. Make room for rest, check-ins, and support when you need it.

Your schedule is already full. Therapy shouldn’t require rearranging your entire life to make it work. The time, format, therapist fit, and how comfortable you feel all matter. Because support is a lot easier to keep showing up for when it actually works with your life. Finding what works for you might take some adjusting. That’s okay. Therapy is supposed to support your life, not become another thing making it harder.
