Join us and Susanna Farms tonight at the farm.

Tomorrow we have another Friday Night Teen Social on the Farm! There is still some space to register, so we would love to have you join us!

In collaboration with Youth & Family Counseling we are hosting a teen social event for 4 different Friday evenings. Connect, unwind, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Teens will connect with horses and farm animals through hands-on equine-assisted activities—brushing and leading horses, feeding animals, and learning to care for themselves and their animal partners.
The evening closes around the fire pit with a counselor for guided conversation and reflection, exploring:

- Confidence & self-esteem
- Social & emotional skills
- Healthy relationship building
- Mindfulness & self-awareness
- Self-care & resilience
- Communication & connection

This will be a donations based event and you can register at SusannaFarms.net/events.

Welcome to the team, Abi! 👋

Abi Saravanakumar joined YFC earlier this summer as a Client Services Specialist at our Libertyville office. She's one of the team members walking clients through case management and helping address the social drivers of health that also impact our mental health.

Abi has a particular interest in adolescent development within the criminal and social justice systems, and she was drawn to YFC because our values align closely with her own.

Outside of work, Abi volunteers at community events focused on children and families, and spends her time reading, writing, and crocheting.

We're glad to have her on board—welcome, Abi!

🎒 Back to School Basics Group for 1st & 2nd Graders 🎒

The jump from summer to school can be a big one for little ones with the new routines, new expectations, and big feelings that come along with it! Our Back to School Basics group is here to help kids build the emotional resilience they need to make that transition smoothly.

Through interactive play, art, stories, and skill-practice, kids will learn and practice:

✅ Adaptive Coping Skills

Illinois is launching the Families Receiving Emergency Support for Hunger (FRESH) program to help eligible Illinoisans who lost SNAP benefits due to recent federal work requirement changes.

Beginning August 1, eligible individuals can automatically receive a one-time $400 benefit per eligible household member – no application required.
