This year, I'm invested in me. I'm invested in having fun, and doing the things that fill me up.
I'm getting dirty running trails.
I'm challenging myself to the first 5k I've run since my 20s.
I'm taking my son ziplining.
I'm dancing and feeling joy and love around us on this beautiful island.
And in order to do all of this...I need acupuncture.
I use it to keep my ganglion cyst from getting too big and stopping my running.
I use it to keep my back feeling good and ready for the next big adventure.
I use it to keep my ankles feeling good after a hard fall.
Miraculously, the scrape on my leg in the photo was from rolling my ankle, running down a trail with a 60-lb boy on my back. I (and my son), were fine.
But that's what life is about for me right now. Investing in myself, having new adventures with my kid, and not believing that age is anything more than a number.
Koloa Ziplines was an amazing experience for my son. I loved it too, but those hills were NO JOKE! I slept the rest of the weekend, it seems.

Balance can be challenging to maintain as you age, but it doesn't have to be. These exercises can help you regain better balance, as well as regular exercise. It's never too late to start, and it takes very little of your day.
If you're having a balance problem that is not being alleviated through exercise, please make an appointment. I am happy to assist with troubleshooting other reasons why you might not be able to balance.

This simple, often neglected skill can pay huge dividends later in life.
