DUNN PAL MOURNS THE PASSING OF MS. PEGGY THOMAS

It is with heavy hearts that the Dunn Police Athletic & Activities League announces the passing of our longtime staff member, mentor, and dear friend, Ms. Peggy Thomas.

Ms. Peggy passed away at her residence on Monday morning, September 28, 2026.

For 12 years, Ms. Peggy was a treasured member of the Dunn PAL family, faithfully serving our organization, our youth, and our community.

Ms. Peggy first came to Dunn PAL in 2013 as a part-time trainee through the National Caucus and Center on Black Aging, Inc. (NCBA). After completing her training assignment, she joined our staff in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant and remained a dedicated part of PAL for more than a decade.

But Ms. Peggy’s service went far beyond her job.

She earned her Master’s Degree in Divinity from Bethel Bible Theology School and devoted much of her life to helping children and families. She was a licensed therapeutic foster parent, Guardian ad Litem volunteer, and Dunn PAL mentor.

Those who knew Ms. Peggy will also remember her love for shopping and crafting, along with the caring spirit, faith, and compassion she shared with those around her.

Ms. Peggy was more than a staff member. She was family.

We are grateful for her years of service and the countless lives she touched. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her impact on Dunn PAL and our young people will not be forgotten.

Please keep the Thomas family, her loved ones, and the Dunn PAL family in your thoughts and prayers.

Ms. Peggy is in the care of Walker Funeral Home in Lillington, NC. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, and we will share additional information as it becomes available.

Rest in peace, Ms. Peggy. Thank you for 12 years of love, service, mentoring, and dedication to our organization, youth and community. You will always be a part of the PAL family.
