Meeting an NFL icon. 🏈

All in all, it was a good outing for our coastal Samaritan folks at the Neighbors for Kids 17th Annual Kids Zone Classic!

"We didn't win, but we represented well," said Lesley Ogden, MD, Samaritan's Coast Hospitals CEO. Her husband, William, took a group selfie of the Samaritan team that also included Coast Hospitals COO Ryan Combs and Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital Director of Plant Services Jon Conner.

And, in case you don't recognize the man with the football, that's Dan Fouts, who auctioned off items including signed jerseys and footballs. A longtime supporter of Neighbors for Kids, Fouts is a former San Diego Chargers quarterback who was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993, his first year of eligibility.

What a meaningful day connecting with community at the Lincoln City Parks & Recreation Pride and Albany Pride celebrations! 🌈

We’re so appreciative of everyone who stopped by the Samaritan Health Services booth to say hello, gather resources and spend a moment with our team.

Throughout the events, we:

💙 Handed out bottles of water to help keep attendees comfortable and hydrated
📚 Shared complimentary children’s books, generously donated by the North Lincoln Hospital Foundation
🩺 Offered information about Sarah’s Place, our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) program — providing compassionate, no-cost care for those who have experienced sexual assault
💚 Distributed details about the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, connecting people to immediate mental health support
🩹 Our SamCare Mobile Medicine team was on-site as well, providing first aid support and helping ensure a safe event for all

We’re thankful for the chance to support our neighbors, uplift health and wellness, and celebrate alongside communities where everyone belongs.

Special thanks to our Pride Alliance employee resource group members, volunteers and community partners who made these celebrations possible. We’re already looking forward to joining the Newport Oregon Pride celebration in September! 🌈
