If you’ve ever come to NLCC, you know getting out can be a little tricky to see. Thanks to our amazing board member, and his friend Charles and his crew, we now have a better and safer sightline for our staff and clients. It was a big job and a big deal for us! We are so grateful for the many ways our community cares for us! 🩵

Our Denim and Diamonds Gala is coming up on Friday, October 16, 2026.

💎Did you know that our Diamond and Denim sponsorship levels each come with a workshop that you can host for your employees, or gift to another organization?
🤠Last year's sponsors all donated their workshops, and we were able to provide 2 workshops to other nonprofit organizations on "How to care for yourself while caring for others," 3 workshops for youth involved in an after school program within the Oxford school district, and we hosted a free Business Persons Breakfast for leaders in our community.

🎉We love these levels, because you not only give to us, but you also get to give back to your own business or double your impact by helping another organization. We think it's a win-win!

Check out all of our sponsorship levels on our website at www.newlondoncounselingcenter.com/gala2026

*Diamond level comes with a 90-minute corporate training valued at $1,500
**Denim level comes with a 60-minute corporate training valued at $1,000
***workshops will be fulfilled at a mutually agreed upon time for the receiving business/organization and NLCC.

June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health affects us all. Men die by su***de at 4 times the rate that women do, but men are much less likely than women to receive mental health treatment. In addition to symptoms like worry, sadness, and loss of motivation, men often feel irritable, angry, and frustrated when dealing with poor mental health.
We are grateful for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) for their thoughtful and helpful resources around this topic, which you can find here, https://helplinefaqs.nami.org/article/449-are-there-mental-health-resources-and-support-specifically-for-men

If you, or a man you love is struggling, encourage them to speak to someone they trust, or to a trusted professional.
New London Counseling Center can be reached at 484-746-3112.

As the school year comes to a close, we want to express our gratitude to the for their continued partnership and care for students and families in our community.

Supporting mental health takes collaboration, compassion, and people willing to walk alongside others — and we are thankful for the opportunity to work together in meaningful ways throughout the year.

Thank you for helping create spaces where students feel seen, supported, and encouraged.
😎We wish all of your staff, students and families a safe and joy-filled summer!

🌸Today we wrap up our 12 Steps to Positive Mental Health, but don't stop now!
Find one (or a few) step(s) that you can start doing all summer long!

Step 12. Be part of something bigger
Supporting others can be powerful for your own mental health too.
If you’re looking for a way to make a difference, we invite you to come alongside our mission to make mental health care accessible for all. Or pick one of the many amazing organizations in our community to support, serve or share!

🫶Take good care of yourself - not just in May, but all year long! We're rooting for you!

Step 11. Do one things that brings you joy!

🩵Don't think too hard about this one! Even something small: A favorite song, time outside, or a hobby. Joy doesn’t have to be big to matter.
And a little joy can go a long way.

Step 10. Give yourself permission to not be okay.

You don’t have to push through everything. Some days are hard, and that’s part of being human. There are moments when it is absolutely okay, to not be okay...just don't stay there.
If you find yourself getting stuck in a continual state of sadness, or feeling "stuck," that could be a good time to think about getting some help through a trusted friend or counselor.

Step 9. Practice small moments of calm.

This sounds simple, but we all face various seasons of life where this can be especially challenging. Deep breathing, quiet time, or stepping away for a few minutes can reset your nervous system.

When you work in the nonprofit world, it can sometimes feel like you’re constantly asking people for something — come to our event, support our mission, give if you can. And if I’m honest, sometimes in the middle of all of that, it’s easy to forget to pause and truly reflect on the impact we’re making together.
Our “1 of 52” campaign — where we invite 52 people to give $100 to cover one year of counseling for someone in need — has quickly become one of my favorite campaigns to celebrate. We run it alongside our Walk for Wellness, an event that’s free and open to everyone. While some choose to give, there’s never pressure, and donations come in all amounts.
This year, people gave $5, $25, $100… and one person gave $22.
At first, it stood out simply because it wasn’t a round number. But what mattered most was the note he included with his gift:

“There is a saying, ‘You never know what people are going through.’ I miss my work colleague Ernie. I walk to honor his memory. Ernie, I definitely will drink more water & walk the challenge for you pal. Please watch over me old friend.”

It was one of the most meaningful donations I’ve ever seen.
Sometimes people wonder if what they can give is too small to matter. But this is exactly why every gift matters. Collectively, through this campaign and the Walk for Wellness, we raised over $8,100 — enough to provide more than a year and a half of counseling for someone in need.
We are incredibly grateful for the people who are able to give thousands of dollars. Their generosity helps make so much of this work possible. But please never believe that the $22 gift matters any less.
Sometimes a gift comes with a reminder that the work matters, that people matter, and that hope reaches farther than we realize. Those reminders are invaluable, and their impact ripples far beyond what we can see.
So to everyone who gave — no matter the amount — thank you. Your generosity makes hope possible, and you are part of someone’s story. 🩵 Megann
