We're back, folks ..... to introduce our new Clinic Director, Dr. Janet Schwartz-Micheaux!! We are beyond thrilled to have her on the team. She is creative, diligent, and compassionate, and she has been a fearless leader in these past few months. She offers therapy and assessment services as well as supervises our students and oversees all CSPC operations. She earned her PhD from the University of Tennessee and comes to us from Boys Town, where she was a staff psychologist.
She is the QUEEN of hobbies and likely the most interesting person you'll meet. Please comment any recommendations for the best spots for sushi, oat milk shaken espressos, and iced matchas in Lincoln!
Most Rewarding Part of Role: The most rewarding part of being clinic director so far has been helping graduate students get what they need to serve their clients. It has been great to hear about their ideas for collaborating with different organizations in the Lincoln community and seeing their excitement as the clinic develops new programs. I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know some of them individually! The level of enthusiasm that the graduate students have definitely rubs off on me and makes me excited for what the clinic has to offer.
Fun Fact: I enjoy throwing parties! I’m very into decorating, making playlists, creating invitations on Canva, and hosting my friends for a fun evening. I love a good theme and activity too, so each party can be unique and memorable.
