Dorsal root ganglion (DRG), stimulation is a treatment option designed for certain types of chronic nerve pain.

The dorsal root ganglion is a cluster of nerves located near the spine that helps send pain signals from the body to the brain. With DRG stimulation, a small device delivers mild electrical pulses to specific nerves to help interrupt those pain signals before they reach the brain.

Because DRG stimulation targets specific nerve areas, it may be an option for patients with chronic, localized pain, including certain cases of complex regional pain syndrome, or CRPS.
