09/17/2026

We just made it back from another visit to the Food Allergy Institute in Fremont, and this one was such a nice, easy trip! The drive was surprisingly smooth, and we even had time to stop at In-N-Out for lunch before heading to the clinic. 🍔❤️

We made it to the clinic in perfect time and got right to work!

Today Aleister: 🥚 Challenged hen egg tolk at 14 mL
🥜 Escalated peanut to 24 mL (new peanut tarts instead of the gummies)
💚 Introduced pistachio at 30 mg!

Now, those new tarts… 😂 Poor guy is NOT a fan! He said they were very sour and tried to get the 4 mL down, but ended up gagging it down. 😣 Thankfully, he was able to keep it down!

For the second dose, we ground it up and mixed it into just under an ounce of applesauce, and he handled that SO much easier! 🙌 So it looks like applesauce is going to be our go-to method from now on. 😂🥄

And then came pistachio! 💚 This is a pretty big deal because both pistachio and peanut are some of his biggest allergies, so this next treatment cycle is going to be a longer one — 12 weeks! 💪

We'll head back to Fremont around Christmas for another one-day appointment. We'll do his blood draw in the morning and then have his normal appointment a few hours later in the afternoon. ❤️

Another appointment down, another step forward. 🥹 We're incredibly proud of this kid for continuing to push through the hard parts — even when the treatment tastes absolutely terrible! 😂

Today was another big step forward for Aleister 💛

We had a one-day appointment in Fremont at the Food Allergy Institute, and he did amazing.

He escalated his peanut dose to 6 mL, challenged duck yolk at 8 mL, and was introduced to hen yolk

Honestly, having a single-day visit was kind of nice—no hotel stay and no back-to-back appointments. We’re not sure why some visits are structured this way, but we’re grateful for it while we can get it.

His next appointment is scheduled a little later than usual and will include labs and a blood draw to check how his body is responding to the program and if any doses can be safely reduced. We need to raise $1,400 to cover the cost of labs.

We’re also working hard to keep him consistent with dosing as we head into the last 30 days of school and into summer.

🥜 Peanut Gummies!

🌟Day 2 update 🌟
Aleister challenged sheep’s yogurt and did great.
🎉 He also started peanut gummies today!!! He was a little hesitant at first, but he pushed through and handled it like a champ. We are so proud of him for doing something that felt hard and choosing to be brave anyway.

We have completed day one of challenges! Hazelnut and duck egg done. We escalated the duck egg yolk so he will be doing that nightly again instead of during the day. It was a rainy day so we drove slow and enjoyed the drive, had some in and out burgers and now relaxing by the fire.

12/17/2025

Aleister’s been under the weather, so we paused his dosing for a day or two while his body focused on healing. Thankfully, he’s finally on the mend and we’re easing back into his dosing.

This journey isn’t always linear, but we keep moving forward! One step at a time!!

The rain has moved in and the fog has finally cleared 🤞We hope everyone stays safe, warm, and cozy this week.

Day 2 at the Fremont Food Allergy Institute!

Yesterday was a whirlwind — no photos because we were moving nonstop — but Aleister crushed every one of his challenges and graduated to his next foods. Today he’s upping his sheep yogurt and officially starting hazelnut.its in Tart form! He handled everything like the tough guy he is.

This is our first time at the new Fremont clinic, and it’s been a great experience. The staff has been wonderful, the space is comfortable, and everything has run smoothly. We’re really excited to be switched over here plus it’s closer, more convenient, and just easier for our whole family to make these visits happen.

We had a few incredibly kind people donate, and we’re grateful for every bit, but we’re still nowhere close to covering what we had to put on credit to get here. We can’t keep doing that long-term, so if you’re able to help or even just share, it makes a real difference for us.

✨ A Christmas Wish for Aleister ✨

I hate to post something this heavy during the holidays, but we’ve hit a wall and we can’t stay quiet about it.

We just received notice that Aleister’s account with Foundation Labs is now critically past due, which means he can’t schedule any future Food Allergy Institute or lab appointments until the balance is paid. On top of that, his two-day December appointment has an estimated cost of $870 that we also have to cover before he can be seen.

These visits aren’t optional for him—this program is literally what keeps him safe, progressing, and out of the hospital. Missing appointments sets him back in a big way, and after everything he’s fought through, I don’t want that to happen to him.

So this year, we’re asking for one Christmas wish:
