I am heartbroken by the loss of my Navy brother and fellow Senior Chief, David Taylor.

David and I served together, and I was proud to call this Seabee my brother. He dedicated his life to serving others, both in the Navy and as a federal wildlife officer. David lost his life while helping evacuate families from a wildfire in Oklahoma.

Rest easy, Senior Chief. It was an honor to serve beside you.

Fair winds and following seas, Brother. We now have the watch...

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today was one of those days that reminds me what truly matters. I had the opportunity to spend a beautiful day on the golf course with Sue, Luke, and Fa, enjoying good conversation, plenty of laughs, and making memories together.

As a Navy veteran, the Fourth of July has always carried special meaning. This year is especially significant as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a document that forever changed the course of history and established the ideals of liberty, self-government, and individual freedom that continue to define our nation.

I’m grateful to those who had the courage to sign that declaration, to every generation that has defended those principles, and to all who continue to serve our country and our communities today.

I hope everyone has a safe and meaningful Independence Day. Take time to celebrate, enjoy family and friends, and remember the extraordinary blessings of living in the United States of America.

Happy Fourth of July, and God bless America! 🇺🇸

Happy 128th Birthday to the US Navy Hospital Corps! As a Corpsman, I know firsthand the profound bond we share. It's more than a job; it's a calling, a family, and an unwavering commitment to those we serve. To my fellow Docs, whether we’ve stood the watch together, deployed together, or simply shared a moment in the BAS – know that I see you, I appreciate you, and I'm eternally proud to call you my brother and sister. Cheers to another year of making a difference!

As many of you know, I retired as a Navy Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman after 22 years of service. Over the years, I’ve accumulated quite a bit of military, photography, outdoor, and training gear that I no longer use.

Over the next several days and weeks, I’ll be posting various items for sale here before listing them on Facebook Marketplace or eBay. I wanted to give friends, fellow Corpsmen, Marines, veterans, collectors, and gear enthusiasts the first opportunity to take a look.

First up: USMC Corpsman Assault Pack

This is a genuine USMC-issued Corpsman Assault Pack designed by Arc’teryx and manufactured by Propper under military contract. It was issued but was never fielded, deployed, or used operationally due to using other medical bags while deployed. It has been stored indoors and remains in like-new condition.

Features:

* Genuine USMC issue
* MARPAT camouflage
* Arc’teryx design
* AP001 Corpsman Medical Divider
* Extensive MOLLE webbing
* Padded shoulder straps and waist belt
* Compression straps throughout
* Excellent condition

Perfect for:

* Military collectors
* Corpsmen and medics
* Emergency preparedness
* Tactical applications
* Hiking and outdoor use

$350 OBO plus actual shipping if not local.

If you’re interested, send me a message. If there is no interest here, I’ll be listing it on Facebook Marketplace and eBay.

Thanks for taking a look.

Memorial Day is not about a long weekend. It is about remembering those who never made it home.

Today, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this nation. Their sacrifice secured freedoms that many of us enjoy every day without a second thought.

At Alpha Safety Training, we recognize that courage, service, and sacrifice come with a cost. We remember the fallen, we honor their families, and we remain grateful for those who stood in harm’s way for others.

Take a moment today to remember them.

Freedom was never free.

Today is Military Spouse Appreciation Day, and I want to recognize my wife, Sue.

During my 22 years in the Navy, she carried far more than most people will ever see. Through multiple deployments, long separations, missed holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, late-night phone calls, uncertainty, and the constant stress that military families live with, she held everything together at home while I was away serving.

I spent years away from her over the course of my career, including deployments and countless periods away from home. Every time duty called, she accepted the sacrifice without complaint and continued moving forward with strength, resilience, and grace.

Military spouses serve too. Their sacrifices are quieter, but they are just as real.

Sue, thank you for standing beside me through every chapter of this journey. Thank you for your strength, patience, loyalty, and unwavering support. I could not have done any of it without you.

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day. I love you.

This is not just a gunshot class.

Defensive Medicine 1 teaches practical emergency skills that apply to real-life situations where someone is badly hurt and help may not be there yet.

That could be a car crash.
A workplace injury.
A serious fall.
An outdoor accident.
A range injury.
Or any emergency where severe bleeding or serious injury becomes the problem in front of you.

The goal is simple: understand what matters first, know what to do, and build enough hands-on practice to act with purpose instead of panic.

You do not need to be a medic. You need clear priorities, practical skills, and training that makes sense in the real world.
