๐ Meet Jozette, Our Papillion Clinic 16-Week Student! ๐
Get to know a little more about her! ๐
What college are you attending and what degree(s) are you pursuing?
๐ฆ I am attending Creighton University and pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy.
Why did you choose the Occupational Therapy (OT) field?
๐ฆ My passion for patient advocacy drew me to occupational therapy. With a background in Healthcare Administration and Policy, I wanted a career that combined my interest in the healthcare system with direct, impactful patient care. Occupational Therapy offers the ideal blend of both while also providing a dynamic environment for me to grow as a provider.
What made you choose lymphedema therapy for your clinical rotation?
๐ฆ After a brief introduction to lymphedema in the classroom, I chose to research the topic and selected the Lymphedema Clinic as my top clinical site to gain hands-on experience. I am interested in emerging OT practices and how they broaden the scope of our profession. Additionally, this placement has allowed me to explore my goal of eventually obtaining wound care certification.
Name one OT/lymphedema-related goal you have.
๐ฆ Although I may not become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, I am dedicated to advocating for those affected by the condition. My goal is to educate future patients and fellow providers by helping them understand lymphedema and navigate the referral process to receive expert care.
Where are you from?
๐ฆ Honolulu, Hawaii ๐บ
Name one personal goal you have in life.
๐ฆ To travel the world while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. โ๏ธ๐
Tell us two things about yourself.
๐ฆ My name is a combination of my momโs and dadโs names, and I do not like pineapple on my pizza! ๐๐
Anything else you would like to share?
๐ฆ I am thrilled to join such a welcoming team as I continue to grow my clinical skills and work toward becoming a provider!
