BABY. GOATS.

Yes, it's true. Baby goats visited Salt Creek Senior Living today. There were snuggles and pets and a shirt that proved simply too delicious not to taste! See the pictures for the proof!

And another two words...a special "THANK YOU" to the Lancaster Meat Goat Club for helping us to appreciate this wonderful part of our Nebraska agricultural education and experience.

Two weeks ago, a Salt Creek Resident was among eight people to receive a special Dream Flight experience. We would like to thank the Nebraska Health Care Association, once again, for helping to arrange this opportunity for all of the Veterans honored on that day! So much of the fun at Salt Creek Senior Living today started with the letter "P" for some reason!

There were puppy visits, pink flowers, pies from Perkins, and piano music.

That PER-fection with a capital P!

Today is "Making Life Beautiful Day" where the goal is to create artwork or share an uplifting story.

This beautiful panel is part of a quilt a Resident is finishing. It will be a special gift to a family member. If you look closely, you can see the special stitching in a butterfly pattern. Treasures like these, gifted from a friend or family member, truly do make for especially beautiful days!

Tonight, our Salt Creek evening art theme is "Gift Bows."

We will display some colorful bows and share some history about them with those who browse the display.

For example, did you know...bows are ancient symbols of status and romance. Gift bows have now evolved into universal symbols of celebration. Knots and loops represent unity and permanence.

Yesterday was an extra, EXTRA special day for eight retired Nebraska Veterans. Dream Flights partnered with the Nebraska Healthcare Association to provide a ride in a World War II-era Boeing Stearman biplane.

One of our wonderful Salt Creek Residents was among those deeply honored with this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Salt Creek has already been featuring some new highlights as we kick off our summer programming!

A few days ago, we had some interesting opportunities to learn about the history of Geraniums and Roses. Next weekend, we are going to learn more about Begonias...like the gorgeous ones growing in one of the flower areas at our building's entrance.

And speaking of things we love to share...our Social Hour attendees enjoyed trying two new recipes for deviled eggs today, as well, courtesy of our amazing Culinary Team.
