Stearns Junior Senior High School is pleased to announce that the SAY Program will be working through our school starting this Friday, May 29, 2026. This program is being brought to us by True Connections. There will be a group for middle school and a group for high school students to meet during the school day. This will be offered on a voluntary basis, once per week for students who sign up. They plan to continue to meet over the summer and into the next school year.
Julie, the coordinator, is a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Kara will be facilitating the groups and is a certified alcohol and drug counselor and a case manager for adults and children.
If you do not wish your child to participate, please notify the school at 723-6430.

This is a meaningful step forward for the Katahdin region, helping increase access to outpatient mental health, substance use and case management services for individuals and families in our community.

True Connections provides psychiatric medication management, counseling, community integration services, and youth-focused programming to ensure coordinated, accessible care in underserved communities. Their work focuses on strengthening rural behavioral health systems, supporting workforce development, and reducing barriers to treatment close to home.
