Two Nebraska PA programs in the Top 20 of the nation!

Creighton University PA Program and the University of Nebraska Medical Center - UNMC both ranked No. 14 in the latest U.S. News Best Physician Assistant Programs list. Congratulations to the students, faculty, and preceptors behind that work. We’re proud to support students and working PAs in Nebraska every day!

Brijit Jones, a PA student at College of Saint Mary Physician Assistant Studies Program, says the biggest takeaway from being part of NAPA is the community.

Through NAPA, students connect with practicing PAs across Nebraska, learn how advocacy works at the state level, and see firsthand what's being done for the profession here at home.

PA students: your voice matters in this work. Join NAPA and be part of it!

Meet Darcy Jones, DMSc, PA-C, serving on the NAPA Board of Directors.

With 23+ years of practice in Nebraska and recently completed DMSc training, Darcy brings both depth and a fresh perspective to the board. She is focused on making sure practicing PAs have a voice in the decisions that affect them, modernizing supervisory requirements, and keeping rural healthcare front and center. With 34.2% of Nebraskans living in nonmetro areas, she sees expanding access to care as one of the Academy's most important charges.

Darcy also champions connection at every career stage, from students just entering the profession to PAs sharing decades of hard-earned perspective.

Welcome to the board, Darcy!

50 years. One remarkable career. πŸ’›

Meet Les, one of Nebraska's very first PAs. Part of the first PA class in 1973, he trained alongside Air Force and Navy classmates.

Five decades later, his advice to the next generation: the PA profession is a noble calling, so do the work that brings you the most joy. There will always be people who need you.

Thank you for 50 years of service. πŸ‘ Ready to join the community shaping the future of the profession? Become a member at nebraskapa.org.

Meet NAPA's Treasurer: Jonathan Kilstrom, MPAS, PA-C

Jonathan brings 12 years of experience as a PA, primarily in emergency medicine, along with eight years as a PA educator β€” currently with the Creighton University PA Program. He has also previously served as a member of the House of Delegates for NAPA.

In his role, Jonathan is focused on transparent financial oversight and aligning the Academy's budget with its strategic priorities β€” supporting advocacy, professional development, and student engagement across Nebraska. He believes strong fiscal stewardship keeps NAPA responsive to its members while strengthening the visibility and impact of PAs statewide.

Welcome, Jonathan! NAPA is grateful to have your leadership.

NAPA is looking for Nebraska PAs to feature β€” the ones going above and beyond for their patients, mentoring students, leading in their communities, or simply making the work better for everyone around them.

Nominations are quick and open to anyone. Tell us who they are and why they stand out.

Nebraska PAs laced up on July 11 for the MOORE Equity in Mental Health 5K β€” running, walking, and rolling in their own communities to support mental health equity.

The MOORE Equity in Mental Health campaign works to close the gap in mental health care for young people of color. NAPA is proud to stand with PA organizations across the country in that effort.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and moved with purpose!
