What makes a place truly feel like home? 🏡

For older adults moving into assisted living, that feeling can come from much more than the space itself. Familiar belongings, a comfortable daily routine, relationships with the people around them and the freedom to make everyday choices can all help a new environment feel personal and familiar.

Our latest blog explores the different pieces that can help assisted living feel like home and why creating that sense of comfort can be such an important part of the transition.

See what can make a new place begin to feel like your own.

Fresh ingredients are part of the dining experience at LCB. 🥖🍓🥒

Our chefs regularly look for fresh, high-quality ingredients and source locally when possible, whether that means visiting a farmers market, selecting seasonal produce or finding the right ingredients for an upcoming meal.

In this behind-the-scenes look, our culinary team visits a local farmers market to handpick ingredients for that evening’s dinner.

It’s just one example of how fresh ingredients make their way from the market to residents’ tables.

What if something as familiar as a deck of cards could help someone living with dementia stay engaged, connected and involved?

Our latest blog looks at the role purposeful play can have in memory care, including how familiar games, puzzles and other activities can encourage communication, problem-solving and participation without creating unnecessary frustration.

It also explores why games can be especially valuable for families, giving everyone an easy way to spend time together when conversation alone may feel difficult.

See why play can be an important part of supporting people living with dementia.

We were so grateful to visit The Loft at Linn earlier this week and present our "A Walk in Their Shoes" dementia simulation as part of their Moments That Matter Summer Camp. 💜

This program gives high school students the opportunity to explore careers working with older adults, learn directly from residents, build meaningful intergenerational connections, and give back to their community.

What a meaningful way to help the next generation better understand dementia and the importance of leading with empathy, patience, and compassion. Thank you for inviting us to be a small part of such a special program.
