As outdoor temperatures continue to rise, our team remains focused on preventing hyperthermia and protecting the health and well-being of our residents.

Hyperthermia occurs when the body becomes overheated and can be especially dangerous for older adults. To help keep residents safe, we encourage hydration, provide access to sunscreen and sun protection, monitor time spent outdoors, and ensure fresh water is readily available in outdoor areas. Our staff also closely monitor residents enjoying outdoor activities and take additional precautions for those who may be more sensitive to heat due to certain medications or health conditions.

By staying proactive and prepared, we can help residents safely enjoy the sunshine while reducing the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Remember: Stay hydrated, seek shade when needed, and be mindful of the signs of overheating. Together, we can make this a safe and enjoyable summer season!

Happy Family Friday!

Employee Spotlight – Congratulations Allie!

Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center would like to recognize Allie, as we are so proud she chose us to be part of the beginning of her journey and achievements. Over the past year and a half, Allie has grown tremendously while balancing her first semester of nursing school and beginning her career in healthcare here at LRC.
Allie shared that her goal has always been to become a nurse because she wanted to serve others and truly make a difference in patients’ lives whether by being an advocate, offering a listening ear, giving a hug, or simply holding a hand when needed most.

Today, we proudly celebrate her incredible accomplishments as she graduates with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing, as a member of the National Technical Honors Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, and achieves her Registered Nurse licensure. She will soon begin her nursing career with plans to continue pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Congratulations, Allie! We thank you for the compassion and dedication you have shared with our residents and staff, and we wish you nothing but success and happiness in this exciting new chapter.

Happy Memorable Moment Monday!

Our Activity Director Nichol Adams coordinated a wonderful night for our residents and their families, creating an experience that everyone could enjoy together. Residents voted on the evening's menu, which featured a delicious cheese and fruit appetizer, cranberry glazed turkey, broccoli and cheese, potato salad, key lime pie, peach tea, and infused blueberry and strawberry water.

Guests and residents began the evening by taking family photos in front of a beautiful backdrop, capturing special moments before being escorted to their personalized tables with their names displayed. The night brought families together to enjoy great food, meaningful conversations, and time spent making memories together. To end the evening on a special note, each resident and guest received a gift as a token of appreciation. Nights like these remind us that the most meaningful moments are the ones shared together. Also, A huge thanks to all staff that pitched in and helped make this Garden Gala Magical.

Happy Family Friday!

We would like to give a special shout-out to Allison from VIA Hospice for providing a fantastic "Cheeseburger in Paradise" meal for our staff as part of our National Nursing Home Week celebration. Your generosity and support helped make the day extra special and gave our team an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal together. Thank you for helping us recognize and appreciate our amazing staff and all that they do each day.
