Deep pressure “squeezes” can be an important part of pediatric therapy. Providing calming sensory input may help some children regulate their bodies, improve attention for activities, and increase engagement during therapy sessions. Squeezes can also help reduce anxiety and support a child in returning to and participating in therapy tasks.

Feeding Therapy with Ms. Holly!

Feeding therapy looks different for every child. We work on building comfort and confidence while eating and drinking by encouraging tolerance, curiosity, and positive experiences with food.

This may include exploring the look, smell, texture, or taste of different items as children gradually become more comfortable and interested in trying new things.

Bubbles are a fun and easy activity you can do at home while supporting your child’s development through Occupational Therapy!

Increases attention: Bubbles naturally grab children’s interest and help them stay focused during play.

Sensory engagement: The movement, shine, and popping of bubbles create a multi-sensory experience that encourages physical interaction.

Builds hand control: Reaching, popping, and stretching toward bubbles helps strengthen hand and arm movements.

Supports visual tracking: Children practice following bubbles with their eyes and learn when to reach and pop them, improving coordination.

Simple, playful, and effective—bubbles turn everyday fun into meaningful skill-building!

Play is one of the best ways for children to practice communication skills and racing cars definitely kept the motivation high!

Speech therapy worked on functional communication words like “GO!” and “STOP!” while racing toy cars along the tracks. These simple, powerful words help children learn how to communicate wants and interact with others during everyday activities.

Why use a weighted vest?

Weighted vests provide deep pressure input, which helps children feel calm, more organized, and better able to focus on play and learning during session. Think of it as a gentle hug for the nervous system.

How to use it safely:
- Weight should be no more than 5-10% of a child's body weight.
- Wear for 15-30 minutes at a time.
- As always, follow guidance from your therapist.

Every child is different, weighted vests are just one tool in the sensory toolbox!

Before you recycle those old magazines… we’ll happily take them!
We’re looking for magazines with food pictures or recipes to use in pediatric therapy. They’re great tools for our kids, and donations are very appreciated 💛
Message us if you’d like to drop some off at the clinic or I can come pick them up in Lindsborg. Let me know and thanks!
