Fello Supporting people with disabilities and creating communities where everyone belongs. At Fello, we believe in the power of choice and community.

Our name reflects how we work—alongside others, with heart, purpose, and a deep commitment to connection. We partner with people with disabilities to provide support services, develop inclusive and accessible housing, and create spaces where people feel genuinely connected, not just accommodated.

A heartfelt thank you to St. Martin's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund for their generous donation to Fello's Family Fund!

The Family Fund provides assistance to children with disabilities and their families, helping cover needs and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.

This work is made possible by the generosity of community partners who believe in supporting their neighbors. We're incredibly grateful to St. Martin's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund for standing alongside Fello and helping us make a meaningful difference for families in our community.

Thank you for your generosity and partnership!

Nothing brings people together quite like good food, great company, and a surprise visit from the Oriole Bird!

Our Day Services End of Summer Cookout at Sandy Point State Park was all about connection, community, and celebrating a summer filled with great experiences together. The Oriole Bird jumped right into the fun, showing off his skills on the court and breaking out some pretty impressive dance moves!

A big thank you to Red Hot & Blue for the delicious food and to all of the staff and volunteers who helped make the day possible. Days like this are a great reminder that community is built through shared experiences, meaningful connections, and simply having fun together.

Secretary Jake Day has spent his career strengthening communities and expanding opportunities across Maryland. A native Marylander and dedicated public servant, he now leads the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development, where he champions safe, quality, accessible housing as the foundation for thriving communities statewide.

He shares Fello's belief that housing should offer choice, connection, and opportunity. His leadership has helped advance the policies, partnerships, and investments that make that vision real for families across Maryland.

We're proud to recognize Secretary Day as a Fello at 65 honoree and celebrate the impact his work has had on communities statewide.

Celebrate with our honorees at Fello's 65th Anniversary Celebration on October 3 at The Hall at Live!

Tickets are $150 - tables of 8 are available. Reserve your seat today: https://bit.ly/45h93nf

Fello and Steve Smollon, Chair of the Board of Directors, are proud to announce the appointment of Luke Pinton, Esq., to Fello's Board of Directors.

Luke began his term on September 1 and brings extensive experience in government relations, public policy, and legal affairs. Having previously worked directly with Fello as our lobbyist, Luke also brings a strong understanding of our organization, our mission, and the people we support.

We look forward to the experience and perspective he will bring as we continue empowering people with disabilities and building inclusive communities.

A new Maryland Matters story examines how Medicaid delays and erroneous disenrollments are leaving community providers across Maryland carrying the cost of essential disability services—sometimes for months or even years.

When providers are left carrying significant costs for services that Maryland has authorized and people depend on, it strains the entire disability service system. Providers cannot indefinitely absorb the cost of care that has already been delivered.

And this isn't only about reimbursement—it's about protecting the stability of the system people rely on, and making sure administrative problems don't come at the expense of the people who need support.

We're grateful to Maryland Association of Community Services (MACS) for continuing to elevate this issue and advocate for solutions. Providers need timely reimbursement, and the people we support deserve continuity of care.

Read the full article from Maryland Matters and learn more about what providers are experiencing.

After more than two years of erroneous Medicaid disenrollments, communication challenges and slow responses from state agencies, the nonprofits and companies providing developmental disability services say they are near a financial breaking point.

A big thank you to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department for taking time out of their day to visit us at Fello Severn!

The crew gave us an up-close look at some of the equipment and tools they use every day to respond to emergencies and keep our community safe. We had plenty of questions along the way, and they took the time to answer every one of them.

Visits like this are a great opportunity to learn more about the people who serve our community while building connections with the first responders we may encounter out in the community.

Thank you, Anne Arundel County Fire Department, for stopping by and spending some time with us!
