Our residents picked up the frosting bags, grabbed the sprinkles, and went to work creating their own one-of-a-kind masterpieces. The creativity was real, the colors were bold, and yes, a few couldn't resist sampling their handiwork right away.

Red, white, and blue never felt so good. 🇺🇸

When the summer heat turned up, we brought the Fourth of July cookout inside, and our residents and staff made the most of it.

Hotdogs, burgers, ribs, coleslaw, homemade pasta salad, baked beans, watermelon, and bomb pops. The food was incredible, the company was warm, and the patriotic spirit filled every corner of the room.

Tomorrow, America turns 250.

It's a staggering number for a country. But think about it for a second and it stops being about a country at all.

Because a whole generation lived through the part we now call history. They grew up with the radio before the television, the letter before the phone call, the porch before the group chat.

They built the ordinary American life the rest of us were simply handed.

Two and a half centuries is a milestone none of us will ever see again. And the people who carried us the furthest deserve to feel every bit of it, not from a distance, not down the hall, but right where they are, known by name.

That's what this weekend is really about for us.

Making sure the ones who gave us the last 250 years never have to celebrate the milestones alone.

Happy Fourth of July.

Our residents celebrated with water ice, popcorn, cupcakes, and the best props we could ask for. Red Oak Hospice and Visiting Angels joined in on the fun, and the joy was everywhere.
