🐯 Get ready for a day of family fun, learning, and adventure at the CT Beardsley Zoo!

The Connecticut Cradle to Career Coalition invites families with young children, ages 0–5, from Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, Waterbury, and Danbury to the Sparkler Summer Series: CT Beardsley Zoo Edition!

All of our Early Start CT programs have received their Little Libraries gifted and installed by our Early Childhood Council of Western CT. A wonderful opportunity for children to choose a book to bring home and share with their families. Love the personal touches that our programs added and those smiling little faces that have already found a special book to share.

COOLING CENTERS July 14 - July 16, 2026 🌞🌡

The Governor has activated the Hot Weather Protocol Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16. The following cooling centers will be open to help residents stay safe during the extreme heat.

Anyone needing a place to get out of the heat can locate their nearest cooling center by calling 2-1-1.

Safety tips to help stay cool:
⚠️Stay hydrated.
⚠️ Run your errands early when possible.
⚠️ Avoid strenuous activity.
⚠️ Take frequent breaks to cool down.
⚠️ Check on your neighbors.

Our ECE Liaison, Eileen Costello, joined one of our Early Start CT programs, Action Early Learning Center as they celebrated their graduates going off to kindergarten. Director Mini Santosh, along with guests, Senator State Senator Julie Kushner, Rep. Bob Godfrey and Rep. Ken Gucker were all on hand to congratulate the students and families as they wrapped up their fabulous preschool experience. We are so proud of the 🎉fantastic🎉 teaching staff at both Action Early Learning 1 & 2 , each of you have created such amazing classrooms and learning experiences, while supporting children and their families the entire way. 🎓

The Danbury Police Department, in partnership with AAA, is hosting a Child Car Seat Installation Event on July 11th from 12PM–4PM at 93 Lake Avenue. Certified officers will be on-site to ensure your child’s car seat or booster is installed safely and correctly.
