On August 30, 2010 the new building was opened for business, including luxury boarding for cats & dogs. Starting 2011, doggy daycare is also available.

We're excited to welcome Dr. Kendall Wyman to Alafia River Animal Hospital and invite you to meet her with a special offer:

Dr. Wyman was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, where she earned her BSc in Marine Biology before pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island and began her career as a small animal general practitioner with a special interest in behavior medicine.

She is passionate about preventive care, internal medicine, and client education, helping pet owners build strong, lifelong bonds with their pets through proactive healthcare.

In 2024, Dr. Wyman and her husband relocated from the Bay of Fundy to the Tampa Bay area with their two senior tabby cats and sweet Cairn Terrier. When she's not caring for patients, she enjoys reading fantasy and fiction novels, practicing yoga, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning. ⚡

DOG FOOD RECALL - Allprovide

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Allprovide Pet Foods LLC, based out of Georgia, is recalling 1,500 pounds of its “AllProvide Holistic Pet Food Gently Cooked Chicken Recipe For Dogs.” The firm initiated the recall voluntarily after finding the potential plastic contamination in the dog food product.
