Edna Mae Lockett Personal Care Home

Edna Mae Lockett Personal Care Home I can still hear her now saying: “We’ll Have None of that.” Her no nonsense demeanor exuded style and grace in the presence of all who came across her path.

Welcome to Edna Mae Lockett Personal Care Home – a loving, family-oriented home offering compassionate, personalized care that supports dignity, independence, and peace of mind for every resident and their family. This PCH (Personal Care Home) has been established in memory and honor of Edna Mae Lockett whose tireless passion for God and extreme dedication to family made a difference in her commun

ity. She was my grandmother, my mother, my friend, my confidante, and my teacher. I was fortunate enough to have her take me in at an early age. Under her care, I flourished and grew to become the successful woman I am today. The Values and Principles of this PCH are a direct reflection of the seeds that Edna Mae Lockett planted in me. Her spirit is what drives my passion for community service and my dedication to helping others. In Loving Memory,

🚩 "Mom Seems Fine...But Is She Really?"

Caption:
Many seniors do a great job hiding their struggles because they don't want to worry their families.

Watch for these subtle warning signs:
• Unopened mail piling up
• Expired food in the refrigerator
• Wearing the same clothes repeatedly
• Missed medications
• Increased forgetfulness
• Withdrawal from social activities

These small changes can indicate that additional support may be needed.

At Edna Mae Lockett Personal Care Home, we help families navigate these decisions with compassion and honesty.

🧠 Dementia Myth vs. Fact

❌ MYTH:
Memory loss is a normal part of aging.

✅ FACT:
Occasional forgetfulness may occur with age, but significant memory loss that interferes with daily life is not a normal part of aging.

Early recognition can help families access resources and support sooner.

Knowledge is power when caring for someone living with dementia.

📱 Are We Becoming Too Dependent on Our Devices? 🤔

Technology makes life easier, but too much screen time can affect our focus, memory, sleep, and ability to connect with those around us. While "Digital Alzheimer's" is not a medical diagnosis, experts have raised concerns that constantly relying on phones and devices to remember information may weaken our attention and memory skills over time.

💡 Simple ways to protect your brain: ✅ Take regular breaks from screens

✅ Engage in face-to-face conversations
✅ Read a book or work on puzzles
✅ Stay physically active
✅ Get quality sleep
✅ Challenge your mind by learning something new

Our brains are like muscles—the more we use them, the stronger they stay. Let's make time each day to unplug, connect, and keep our minds active! 🧠❤️
