Aevidum We are empowering youth to have their friends' backs and creating cultures of care and advocacy in s Join the movement - spread the word!

Aevidum’s goal is to create cultures of “I’ve got your back” in schools and communities across the nation by forming Aevidum organizations. The Aevidum message is delivered creatively through a series of student-generated materials, interactive displays, high-energy assemblies, community events, music, artwork, stories, and PSAs, etc. Aevidum, which started in 2004 after a student died by suicide, earned SADD’s National Activity of the Year award in 2009, selected from more than 10,000 schools from across the nation. The organization has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Senate, Pennsylvania House, the nation’s top mental health experts, the mental health directors of New York and Ohio, and professors at the Penn State University, Florida State University, and the University of Maryland. In addition to appearing on TV, radio and in newspapers across Pa, Aevidum has appeared on Good Morning America. At the core of Aevidum is an educational philosophy that empowers students to take responsibility to make a difference. Aevidum students are encouraged to use their gifts and talents to succeed and to recognize the gifts and talents of their peers.

We had the best morning kicking off a new year of Aevidum at Central Cambria High School with two student-led assemblies! Central Cambria's amazing student leaders made a big impact by sharing their gifts and their important message with all students in both their middle and high school.

When students talk, students listen. And we know that today, every student at Central Cambria heard that they're surrounded by people who have their back.

If you're interested in learning about how you can bring a student-led Aevidum assembly to your school, contact us at [email protected].

Thank you, Central Cambria, for inviting us to be a part of the valuable work you're doing and the big impact you're making!

Thank you to the awesome students and advisors who attended our Virtual Talk Workshop this morning! Your energy, dedication, and passion for making a difference in your schools was inspiring and we feel so fortunate to get to work with you. Two of our awesome schools sent group pictures of their clubs after the workshop. We know your schools are in good hands with such enthusiastic student leaders. Thanks for having our back! 💛

You can’t always see mental health. You can’t always tell who is struggling, who is overwhelmed, who is carrying something heavy, or who simply needs someone to ask, “How are you, really?”

Mental health awareness is about so much more than recognizing the signs. It’s also about creating a culture where people feel safe enough to be honest when they’re not okay and know they won’t have to face it alone.

Today on World Mental Health Day, we ask you to check in and listen without judgment. Mental health is health. It's something we all live with.

And remember that sometimes the people who need support the most are the ones who look like they need it the least. 💛

Mental health matters. Every day.

Mental illness doesn’t have a "look."

Sometimes it looks like the friend who makes everyone laugh.
The student who gets straight A’s.
The teammate who never misses practice.
The person who is always checking on everyone else.

You can’t always see what someone is carrying. You don’t have to know exactly what they’re going through to show them you care.

So this AwarenessWeek and every week, check in. Listen without judgment. Make space for an honest answer. Remind them they don’t have to face hard things alone.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can give someone is the feeling of being seen, valued, and cared for.

This Mental Illness Awareness Week, let’s look beyond what we see on the outside and make sure the people around us know that we've got their back. 💛

This , join us as we remember:

🦋 The people who are struggling quietly.
🦋 The people learning to ask for help.
🦋 The people finding their way through recovery.
🦋 The people caring for someone they love.
🦋 The people grieving a loss.
🦋 The people who have felt misunderstood, alone, or like they had to hide what they were going through.
🦋 The people who keep showing up for themselves, and the people who keep showing up for others.

We remember that mental illness can touch anyone, in any community, at any age.
And most importantly, we remember that behind every diagnosis, every struggle, and every statistic is a person, a person worthy of being seen, valued, heard, and cared for.

This week, and every week, let’s choose compassion over judgment, connection over isolation, and caring over silence.

I’ve got your back. 💛
