GHGS attended an Estate Planning Workshop hosted by the American Mexican Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Attorney David Bustamante from the Ciro Spina Law Firm (right) shared valuable insights on wills, trusts, probate, and estate planning. We also heard from Luis Gomez (left), who discussed key considerations for families owning property or assets.

The workshop emphasized the importance of planning. Proper estate planning helps protect assets, preserve benefits, and ensure loved ones are cared for according to your wishes.

For families of individuals with special needs, it's especially important to understand how inheritances from parents, grandparents, or other relatives can affect government benefits like SSI and Medicaid. Planning helps safeguard both financial resources and future support.

Thanks Francisco Javier Del Toro, President (center) and the Board of Directors for hosting this workshop and helping families better prepare for the future.

We attended the Law and Disability Conference and connected with our colleague Walter Kalman from NJAIDD. The conference offered valuable insights on the proposed changes to Medicaid and SNAP benefits under H.R. 1 and their potential effects. Thanks to everyone who continues to advocate for increased support, essential benefits, and better opportunities for the disability community. Together, we can make a difference.
