Will you have a scar after getting implants?
Anytime we make an incision through the skin, there will be a scar. The goal isn't to promise you won't have one. It's to be strategic about where we place it and how it will look long term.

For augmentation, Dr. Sloan often prefers an incision in the natural fold underneath. While there are different incision options, this location gives the surgeon excellent access during the procedure and typically allows the scar to be well concealed as it matures.

Scars also change significantly with time. What you see during the first few weeks or months is not what you should expect your scar to look like years later.

Because a scar is part of surgery, but thoughtful placement can make a big difference.

Can you prevent capsular contracture?
There’s no way to eliminate the risk completely, but one of the ways we can help reduce that risk starts with the implant we choose.

Capsular contracture happens when the scar tissue your body naturally forms around an implant becomes tight and firm. It can change the way the implant feels, looks, and in more severe cases, may require another surgery.
That’s one of the reasons we use Motiva® implants.

Motiva has reported less than a 1% rate of certain device-related complications, including capsular contracture and rupture, in specific clinical study follow-up periods.
For us, choosing an implant isn't only about how it looks and feels today. We're also thinking about the potential for complications years down the road.

No implant is risk-free, and there are other factors that can contribute to capsular contracture, but when we have technology that may help lower that risk, we want our patients to know about it.

It’s your body, and you deserve to understand exactly what your options are before surgery.

Why did Destiny choose Dr. Sloan for her augmentation? 🤍

Choosing your implants is important—but choosing who performs your surgery may be one of the most important decisions you make throughout the entire process.

Your surgeon's experience, technique, aesthetic eye, and ability to understand the result you're envisioning can all play a role in your outcome.

As we continue following Destiny's journey from consultation through surgery and recovery, she's sharing why she ultimately felt confident choosing Dr. Sloan.

For Destiny, it wasn't just about credentials or years of experience. It was about feeling heard, understanding her options, and trusting that she and Dr. Sloan were on the same page about her goals.

If you're considering augmentation, take your time choosing your surgeon. Look at their work. Ask questions. Bring wish photos. And most importantly, make sure you feel comfortable communicating exactly what you want.

Because the implant is only one part of your result. The surgeon you trust to get you there matters, too.

Keep following along as we get closer to Destiny's surgery day! ✨

Can you guess the differences in these implants? 🤍

08/12/2026

We’re taking you along for the entire journey. 🤍
From consultation and choosing implants to surgery day, recovery, and follow-up appointments, we’re following our patient Destiny every step of the way. If you’ve ever wondered what the augmentation process really looks like, follow along!

In this installment, Destiny is talking about how she chose her implants.

Part of our job during your consultation is making sure you understand all of your options so you can make an informed decision about what goes into your body.

Destiny ultimately chose Motiva® implants, and one of the things that stood out to her was the low reported rate of capsular contracture.

Capsular contracture happens when the scar tissue that naturally forms around an implant becomes unusually tight and firm. With Motiva implants, clinical data have reported capsular contracture rates of less than 1% in certain studies and follow-up periods.

No implant can eliminate the possibility of complications entirely, but it's important to us that our patients understand the differences between their options—including the potential risks and benefits of each.

And Destiny made the choice that felt right for her. 🤍

Keep following along because we're taking you all the way through surgery and recovery!

Don't get caught up in the CCs.
One of the biggest misconceptions about implants is that CCs equal cup sizes.

They don't.

A 300cc implant on one patient may result in a completely different cup size than it would on someone else.

Why?

Because cup size depends on much more than implant volume. Your:
• Height
• Chest width
• Existing tissue
• Body frame
• Implant profile
• Starting cup size..all play a role in your final result.

That's why asking for "340cc because my friend has 340cc" rarely works.

Instead of focusing on the number, focus on the outcome.

Tell us:
✨ What look you're hoping to achieve.
✨ Whether you want a subtle or fuller result.
✨ Bring wish photos of patients with a similar body type.

Then let your surgeon determine the implant that will best help you reach that goal.
The right implant isn't about choosing the right CC.

It's about choosing the right implant for your anatomy.

Brandi Cyrus recently shared on the Sorry We're Cyrus podcast that she has 185cc implants—and according to her plastic surgeon, they were the smallest implants he had ever placed.

It's a great reminder that bigger isn't always better.

For some patients, 185cc is the perfect choice. On a petite frame, that size can create a subtle, natural enhancement while maintaining balance and proportion.

This is exactly why we encourage patients not to compare implant sizes with friends or celebrities.

185cc on Brandi won't necessarily look like 185cc on you.

Your height, chest width, existing tissue, body frame, and goals all influence what your final result will look like.

At the end of the day, the best augmentation isn't about choosing the biggest implant or even a specific CC.

It's about choosing the implant that best fits your anatomy and the result you're hoping to achieve.

Sometimes the smallest implant creates the biggest confidence boost.
