Juanita Terrell Rose

Juanita Terrell Rose, a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured grandmother, gifted cook, and unforgettable conversationalist, peacefully departed this life on July 31, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy defined by love, laughter, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her warm smile, quick wit, and generous spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Juanita was born on August 25, 1926, in Tarry, Arkansas, to Mayfield and Luvenia Terrell. As the eldest of five children, she naturally embraced a leadership role, modeling perseverance, determination, and compassion. She encouraged her siblings to dream big and work diligently to achieve those dreams, values that guided her throughout her life.

She graduated from Jones High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and later earned an Associate of Arts degree from Dunbar Junior College, reflecting her lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. Juanita was also a proud and faithful member of the Les Bonnes Amies Social Club for many years, where she enjoyed fellowship and formed lasting friendships.

On January 15, 1948 Juanita married the love of her life, Oscar B. Rose. Together they built a strong and loving home until his passing. Their union was blessed with three sons: Oscar B. Rose, Jr. (who preceded her in death), Terrell Rose (Arlene), and Anthony Rose (Alice). She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rose, and two cherished grandchildren, Shana Rose and Jason Rose.

Juanita’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Terrell Rose (Arlene) and Anthony Rose (Alice); her grandchildren, Clayton Rose, Britinny Rose, and Nona Rose (Charles); six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and neighbors who will forever remember her kindness and love.

More than an exceptional cook and engaging storyteller, Juanita was the heart of her family and a steady source of warmth and wisdom. Her kitchen was a gathering place filled with good food, laughter, and conversation, where everyone felt welcomed and cared for. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making others feel at home.

Whether sharing family stories, offering gentle advice, or enjoying long conversations in the kitchen, Juanita brought people together with ease. Her strength, humor, resilience, and unconditional love left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.

Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy lives on through the lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the love she so freely gave. Her life stands as a testament to faith, family, friendship, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

"Her greatest legacy was not measured by the years she lived, but by the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely.
