A mother’s persistence can make all the difference.

After noticing something wasn’t right with her daughter’s eye, one mom trusted her instincts and kept pushing for answers. During an eye exam, her optometrist, Dr. Matthew Jones, of Blytheville, identified retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive eye cancer. After receiving treatment at St. Jude's, TaTiyana is now cancer-free. Early detection and advocacy helped save her child’s life.

By 18 months, Mineka knew that her daughter's symptoms were more than an allergic reaction. It turned out to be retinoblastoma.
