Great things happen when we come together with one shared goal: connecting Arkansas youth and families with the care, resources, and support they need!

Wesley Morgan and Amanda Pierce recently represented Methodist Family Health at the Acute Services Providers Forum hosted by the Arkansas Division of Youth Services at Southern Arkansas University. We're grateful to share information about acute psychiatric care and residential treatment services and discuss collaborating with DYS, juvenile courts, and community partners to ensure Arkansas youth have access to the appropriate level of care when they need it most.

A special thank you to Adrian Sanders, Assistant Director of the Arkansas Division of Youth Services, for coordinating this important event and bringing providers and community stakeholders together.

We also enjoyed connecting with our fellow behavioral health referral partners, including Patreece Barton and Natalie Bland with Perimeter Behavioral Health, and Erin Newell with The BridgeWay.

Yes. Anxiety can affect children and teens just as it affects adults.

While occasional worry is a normal part of life, persistent anxiety may show up as excessive fear, irritability, difficulty concentrating, physical complaints, sleep challenges, or avoidance of certain situations.

If anxiety is affecting your child's daily life, professional support may help them develop healthy coping skills.

Recovery is not one decision. It’s a series of battles, choices and small victories.

At Arkansas CARES, clients spend four months doing some of the hardest work of recovery: facing what they once tried to outrun, practicing new coping skills, choosing honesty, rebuilding relationships and learning how to experience life without needing to escape it.

As Peer Recovery Support Specialist Emily Gautney writes, even the moments that look simple matter. Staying when leaving would be easier. Sitting through a difficult group. Laughing sober. Celebrating a birthday. Making a new memory.

Those moments become evidence that addiction does not get to define the rest of someone’s story.

By the time a client graduates, they are not walking back into life as the same person who first came through the doors. They leave with new tools, new strength and a growing belief that recovery is possible.

At Arkansas CARES, we are honored to be part of that process.

Savannah Lewis, a licensed professional counselor, provides supervision, consultation, in-service training and related support services to our counseling staff in Magnolia and El Dorado. She also offers individual, family and group therapy in these communities.

Today is National Pastor Appreciation Day, and we are honored to recognize two leaders whose care and service strengthen the work of Methodist Family Health and Methodist Family Health Foundation.

Rev. Dr. Hammett Evans, Pastoral Care Director for Methodist Family Health, provides holistic care rooted in genuine human connection. Through small groups and one-on-one conversations, he meets clients where they are and supports them throughout their journeys.

Rev. Dr. Michael L. Mattox, Church Relations Associate, keeps the Foundation connected with churches across Arkansas. These partnerships provide essential volunteers, in-kind donations and financial support for the children and families we serve.
