The Financial Impact of Sudden Closure

Sudden closures hit both the clinician’s family and their patients financially. A plan ensures bills are processed for the family and super-bills are available for patient reimbursement. Protect your family's income and your patients' access to care.

Is Your "Immediate Circle" Prepared? When a crisis occurs, your family needs clear direction, not administrative puzzles. Naming a personal representative bridges the gap between your personal loss and your professional responsibilities, giving your loved ones the presence of mind they need.

Losing a therapist is a unique and often socially unrecognized form of grief.

Patients often feel isolated when their most private relationship is suddenly severed. A managed transition provides the space they need to honor their clinical work.Compassionate closure helps patients move toward healthy reattachment in the future.

A safe space is not a policy. It is not a sticker on a door or a line in a mission statement.

It is built through how people are spoken to. How questions are answered. Whether someone feels they can walk into a room and stay exactly who they are.

For LGBTQ+ individuals, genuinely inclusive spaces in their neighborhoods, workplaces, and healthcare settings are directly tied to mental health outcomes. The difference between a space that accepts and a space that affirms is something people feel immediately.

ArPA is committed to building that kind of presence in Arkansas. Not just in clinical settings, but in the community. That is why being at events like SoMa Pride matters to us.

We will be on South Main Street on Saturday, June 13. We hope to see you there.

Transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals often face significant barriers when seeking psychological and healthcare services.

Discrimination. Gatekeeping. Provider knowledge gaps.

These challenges directly impact mental health, access to care, and overall wellbeing.

Research consistently shows that gender affirming care can improve psychological outcomes and help create safer, more supportive therapeutic experiences for TGD clients.

But many clinicians still ask:
How do I integrate affirming practices into my everyday work in ways that are ethical, evidence-based, and clinically meaningful?

“Why Gender Affirming Care Matters” is a one-hour introductory CE program designed to help psychologists build greater competence and confidence in working with transgender and gender diverse populations.

Dr. Arielle Marston will cover:
• Foundations of gender affirming care
• Common barriers TGD individuals face in healthcare systems
• Current research on the psychological benefits of affirming care
• Practical strategies for integrating affirming practices into clinical work

This training is designed for psychologists at all levels of familiarity with this population, whether you are new to this work or looking to strengthen your existing practice.
