If you have epilepsy and have tried two anti-seizure medications and you’re still having seizures – even one a year – you may have drug-resistant epilepsy. You don’t have to settle for “this is all that can be done.”

An epilepsy evaluation helps diagnose the exact type of epilepsy you have and your options beyond medication or resection surgery. Depending on the diagnosis and your goals, treatment options may include medication adjustments, minimally invasive procedures or implantable devices. For some patients, these treatments can significantly reduce seizures and, in certain cases, lead to seizure freedom.

Examples are:
- Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS)
- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
- Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)
- Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT); also called laser ablation

Surgery is rarely the first step for spinal stenosis.

Most back/leg pain flares improve with time—but ignoring symptoms too long (especially weakness or numbness) can lead to lasting problems.

At Neurosurgery One, we take a stepwise approach:

Time + physical therapy

Anti-inflammatory / steroid options (oral or targeted injections)

If that doesn’t work: minimally invasive procedures first (like a discectomy or laminectomy)

Fusion/screws/rods only when truly necessary (instability, severe deformity, etc.)

If you’re not getting relief, the goal is simple: the least invasive option that gets the best result.

The program is called ERAS: Enhance Recovery After Surgery.
