What you’re seeing in that image is a quiet, accurate map of how healing actually works.
🌳A tree does not erase a wound.
It grows around it.
Each ring represents a cycle: a season lived, a lesson repeated, a pattern revisited. When the tree is injured 🤕🤒, the growth doesn’t stop. Instead, the rings bend, tighten, and reorganize themselves around the damaged place. The scar remains visible—but it is no longer open, raw, or defining. It becomes integrated.
Personal growth follows the same law. 🌱📈
We return to the same themes again and again—relationships, boundaries, self-worth, fear, trust—not because we failed to learn, but because each pass happens from a slightly stronger, wiser place.
What once felt like regression is actually concentric expansion. The cycle repeats, but we are not the same center we were before.
Healing is not linear. 📈
It is spiral-shaped.🌀🧬
Every time we revisit an old pain, we do so with more support, more awareness, more internal resources. The scar may still exist, but it no longer dictates the structure of the whole being. Over time, the growth becomes so strong and consistent that the wound is held, stabilized, and protected by life itself. 🧬
Just like the tree: 🌳🌱
The scar marks survival, not weakness
The rings show persistence, not stagnation
The irregularity proves adaptation, not damage
Eventually, the wound stops asking for attention. Not because it disappeared—but because it has been fully included.
Healing isn’t about becoming unscarred.
It’s about becoming whole enough that the scar no longer hurts. 👩⚕️
And the rings keep forming. 🧬
(This idea was expanded upon from a video on tiktok. Once I find her video again I will tag her to give credit for her philosophy on time and healing.) I Found it!
