In the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) latest patient experience ratings, just 250 hospitals nationwide earned the highest possible five-star patient survey rating...and we're proud to be one of only two hospitals in New Hampshire to receive this distinction!

The CMS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey reflects what matters most: how patients experienced their care throughout their hospital stay. From the quality of communication to the compassion they received, every interaction shapes their experience.

This achievement belongs to every member of the LRH team. Every conversation, every act of kindness, and every moment of care makes a difference. We celebrate our staff for their unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care and creating the kind of experience our patients remember long after they leave our doors. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Message from Myles Morneault, PT, DPT, Director of Rehabilitation Services at LRH:

When we expanded our pediatric rehabilitation program just over a year ago, one of our goals was to create a dedicated space where children feel comfortable, safe, and excited to come to therapy. We redesigned the space to make it fun, welcoming, and specifically designed with our pediatric patients in mind, while also investing in new pediatric therapy equipment. This allowed our therapists to provide high-quality, personalized care that helps children learn and grow through play and movement.

The response from our community has been amazing. In a short time, our clinic has become an important resource for pediatric therapy services in the region. We have received referrals not only from nearby communities but also from families traveling more than an hour for physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. In our first year, we served more than 100 families and provided over 1,500 therapy visits. These numbers are more than just visits. They represent children reaching important milestones, becoming more independent, improving their communication, and taking part more fully at home, in school, and in their communities.

Having all three therapy services in one location is key. Children can receive coordinated care from therapists who work closely together. This saves families time, reduces travel, and helps everyone involved in a child's care stay connected, including parents, schools, healthcare providers, and other caregivers.

We recognize the growing need for these services. We are actively recruiting therapists to join our pediatric team. With additional staff, we hope to improve access, shorten wait times, and provide care to even more children and families. As we look back on this first year, we are proud of what we have achieved, and we know there is still more work to do. We will continue learning from our experiences, celebrating our successes, and finding new ways to improve care for the families we serve.

Join us in recognizing our most recent recipient of The DAISY Award – Britta Haley, RN!🌼

Britta was nominated for the exceptional compassion and support she provided to a patient and their family during an incredibly difficult Emergency Department visit. While the outcome was not what anyone had hoped for, Britta's kindness, empathy, and unwavering presence helped guide the family through some of their hardest decisions.

Her nomination described how she honored the patient's wishes, provided comfort during life's most challenging moments, and left a lasting impact on the loved ones she cared for.

Britta exemplifies the very best of nursing. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication remind us what extraordinary care truly looks like. Thank you, Britta, for the difference you make every day!

It's HUC Week! This week is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs) to the healthcare team.

LRH has several dozen HUCs who provide essential support by handling patient admission, transfer, and discharge duties, communicating with patients and their support teams, managing departmental supply needs, maintaining electronic health records, and more.

Our HUCs are vital to the operations in our Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical Unit, Oncology, Hematology, and Infusion Center, and other patient care areas. This week especially, we celebrate them and thank them for their continued hard work!
