For Jenna Phillips, a case of strep throat became a life-threatening illness that led to advanced heart and lung support at AdventHealth.

Now, the 35-year-old mother of three is recovering and says the experience gave her a new lease on life. At AdventHealth’s first ECMO and Impella survivor picnic, Jenna reunited with the doctors and nurses who cared for her during her most critical moments.

Her story is a powerful reminder of how recovery can open the door to more time with family, new perspective and hope for what comes next.

An abdominal aortic aneurysm, or AAA, can grow without symptoms. Knowing your risk can help you take action early.

Age, smoking history, and family history can increase your risk. For some people, a simple ultrasound can help detect an AAA before it becomes an emergency.

Talk with your doctor about whether abdominal aortic aneurysm screening is right for you.

Cancer changed Christina Lee’s appearance, routine and sense of security. After a breast cancer diagnosis at a younger age, she began navigating chemotherapy, hair loss, unemployment and the loss of health insurance.

Through it all, Christina has been learning that confidence is not about looking perfect or pretending treatment is easy. It is about showing up, even on the days she does not look or feel her best.

Her message to other young women facing breast cancer is one of honesty and hope: You can feel scared, angry, sad, overwhelmed and joyful. There is no “right way” to be a cancer patient.

Christina is still discovering her new normal, but cancer has not changed who she is.

After months of emotional upheaval and unexpected change, Christina Lee welcomed a chance to step away from cancer treatment and focus on herself.
