❤️‍🩹 A Meaningful Milestone in Therapy

A resident at Avir at Live Oak has been working with our therapy team using neuromuscular stimulation with submental placement to support the suprahyoid muscle groups and improve swallow function.

The clinician is utilizing the AmpCare protocol and Frazier Free Water Protocol to support hydration and safe swallowing practice, with the goal of progressing from PEG tube dependence and NPO status.

After just two weeks of focused therapy, the resident is now able to safely swallow puree.

This is an encouraging step forward and a wonderful reminder of how meaningful every milestone can be during rehabilitation. ✨

We are proud to celebrate this progress and the dedication shown by both the resident and therapy team.
