Often, the period following the birth of a premature infant can be a difficult time for parents that brings with it many unique questions and concerns. The SBMC NICU page is intended to provide SBMC NICU families with helpful information and support, both during and after their baby’s stay in the NICU. “Vivianna was the patient, but sometimes I think those nurses saved me, too.” Born six weeks early on New Year’s Day due to severe preeclampsia, baby Vivianna spent her first 10 days in the NICU at CBMC.
