“Where is your favorite place?”

For us, it’s not one specific place.

It’s the people ❤️

The friendships that form along the way.
The encouragement during the hard days.
The victories that get celebrated together.
The laughter, inside jokes & moments that make everyone smile.

❤️A clinic is just a building, the people inside are what make it special!

TRP is such a wonderful place to be because when you’re surrounded by the right people!

If this checklist sounds familiar, it might be time to talk with an SLP 🗣️🧠

Many people associate Parkinson’s disease with movement challenges, but changes in voice, communication, cognition & swallowing are also common & can impact everyday life.

✔️ People ask you to repeat yourself

✔️ Voice feels softer or more effortful

✔️ You lose your train of thought during conversations

✔️ Appointments, schedules, or daily tasks become harder to remember

✔️ Coughing or difficulty swallowing food & drinks becomes more frequent

Speech can help address much more than speech alone. Therapy may focus on:
🗣️ Voice strength & speech clarity
🧠 Memory, attention & problem-solving strategies
🥤 Swallowing safety & efficiency
📅 Tools to support independence in daily life

The earlier these changes are identified, the sooner strategies can be put in place to help maintain communication, confidence, and quality of life.

Have you noticed any of these changes in yourself or a loved one living with Parkinson’s? 💙

🚲Pedal power meets personalized rehab

Our PT, TJ, took the session outside to help Terry chase the goal of riding his bike again after a spinal cord injury. While he pedaled, we focused on balance, lower‑extremity strength & confidence.

🔥Each turn of the wheel, a step toward the activities he loves.

Targeted, client‑specific goals drive every exercise. By integrating real‑world bike work with functional drills (controlled stops, adapted safety techniques/protocols), we challenge coordination, proprioception & endurance in the same way daily life demands.

☀️When the weather is this nice, we love to bring therapy outdoors!

The fresh air & open space amplify motivation, making progress feel even more rewarding.

From knee immobilizer ➡️ plyometrics 👏

Our OT, Gabby, underwent a patellofemoral arthroplasty + tibial tubercle osteotomy & put in the work through every phase of recovery alongside PT Charlie.

Early on, the focus was simple but critical:
✅ getting the quad firing again
✅ restoring control
✅ progressing out of the knee immobilizer locked in extension for gait

As her recovery progressed, so did the challenge.
Over a couple months, sessions shifted toward power output, force production & plyometric progression:

Phase 1️⃣ load absorption

Phase 2️⃣ double limb power + landing mechanics

Phase 3️⃣ single limb control, stability & confidence

Check out her previous videos to see how far she’s come, from brace to high heels, she’s been dancing again!

Balance, cognition, coordination & vestibular rehab all working together 👏🧠

After an acoustic neuroma led to dizziness & balance challenges, Erin has been working hard on dynamic dual-task training in therapy.

In the first activity she’s tossing a ball to herself, visually tracking the ball, while stepping on/off an Airex pad.

Each catch adds a cognitive challenge:
🔤 Land on a letter = name something that starts with it
➗ Land on a number = solve a quick math problem

🔥Progressing to reactive wall ball drills while standing on the Airex pad. Bouncing/tossing the ball & tapping sticky note targets in different sequences, including patterns she had to remember from memory 👏

These types of exercises challenge the vestibular system, balance, coordination, sequencing & attention all at once to help improve function in busy, real-world environments.

Great work, Erin!

From wheelchair to walking into the clinic independently 👏

After being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) in October 2025, Tony came to TRP using a wheelchair.

Now, he’s coming in without an assistive device & completing 70 sit-to-stands with overhead presses using a 15-pound Tidal Tank 🌊

This session challenged:
✅ Functional lower extremity strength

✅ Endurance + activity tolerance

✅ Core stability + postural control

✅ Coordination during dual-task movement

Recovery after GBS can be a long and challenging journey, but meaningful progress is possible with consistent, individualized rehab & hard work.

Tony continues to show what can happen when determination meets high-intensity, functional therapy

👏 Keep working hard, Tony!

“Sweet” treatment session for Kelly 🍫👏

After her stroke, Kelly has been working hard in occupational therapy on skills that support independence with meaningful daily activities.

During this session, she’s practicing making chocolate-covered Oreos for her niece’s upcoming shower 🥰

Standing at the counter, she worked through:

🍪 Fine motor coordination while handling the Oreos + decorating

💪 Upper extremity control during dipping + drizzling

🧠 Sequencing, planning & attention to task

💥 Standing tolerance + balance throughout the activity

And let’s be honest… therapy that ends with chocolate is usually a win 🍫👏

One of the best parts of neuro rehab is incorporating activities that feel personal, motivating & connected to real-life roles outside of the clinic.

Great work, Kelly!
