This was made possible through the efforts of thirteen dedicated Armenian women and the entire Armenian community. In 1964, a ten acre parcel of land was purchased in order to meet the demands of caring for the elderly. Manoogian Manor became a reality with the dreams, foresight and determination of many individuals, as well as the generous support of our benefactors, Mr. Alex Manoogian. In 1970 t

he doors opened and the facility was officially dedicated to the memory of Mr. Alex Manoogian's parents: The Takvor and Takouhi Manoogian Manor. Since these begining days, Manoogian Manor expanded to house 70 residents, ensuring our elderly a continuance of family life filled with peace comfort and security.

Among the countless meaningful moments from Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan's visit was his time spent with resident Anne Movsesian.

For decades, Anne dedicated her life and the gift of her beautiful soprano voice to the Armenian Church, serving as a premier soloist at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church in Dearborn.

Through countless Divine Liturgies, special services, and celebrations, Anne's voice became part of the spiritual fabric of our Armenian community.

Today, her legacy continues through her granddaughter Emily, who shares that same gift of music and faith with Armenian communities where she lives near Philadelphia.

As Bishop Mesrop spent time with Anne, it was a touching reminder of how one person's devotion can impact generations.

Thank you, Anne, for sharing your voice, faith, gifts, and perpetual smile with so many throughout the years.

Among the many meaningful moments from Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan's visit to Manoogian Manor was the opportunity to spend time with resident George Arakelian.

George's life reflects a remarkable legacy of service. A World War II veteran, longtime educator, devoted member of St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, and dedicated servant to both his community and country, he has spent decades making a difference in the lives of others.

As Bishop Mesrop and George spoke together, it was a powerful reminder that the halls of Manoogian Manor are filled with individuals whose stories continue to inspire future generations.

Thank you, George, for a lifetime of service, faith, and dedication.

❤️ Living Treasures. Cherished Every Day.

Some of the most meaningful moments from Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan's visit happened quietly.

As he walked throughout Manoogian Manor, His Grace took time to personally visit residents, offering prayers, blessings, comforting words, and fellowship.

A hand held.

A prayer offered.

A smile shared.

These simple moments remind us that compassion, faith, and human connection remain among life's greatest gifts.

May our Lord bless our beloved elders with health, peace, comfort, and joy.

Last Friday, we were deeply honored to once again welcome His Grace Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, to Manoogian Manor.

Following his recent re-election as Primate, one of Bishop Mesrop's first pastoral visits to the Detroit area brought him to Manoogian Manor, where residents, families, staff, and visitors gathered for an afternoon of prayer, fellowship, and blessings.

Throughout his visit, His Grace spent time with residents, shared conversations, offered prayers, and experienced firsthand the vibrant community that makes Manoogian Manor so special.

Reflecting on the visit, Bishop Mesrop described our seniors as "living treasures of our community."

Their faith, wisdom, perseverance, and life experiences continue to inspire future generations and strengthen the bonds that connect us all.

We are grateful for the time, care, and blessings His Grace shared with our residents and staff. It was a beautiful reminder that every resident's story matters and every life deserves to be honored.

Thank you, Bishop Mesrop, for blessing our home and our community.

🌱🌼 A Beautiful Memorial Day in the Garden 🌼🌱

Memorial Day at Manoogian Manor was filled with special moments, including time spent in our courtyard garden enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and spring planting.

Residents helped bring a little more color and life to our outdoor space while sharing stories, laughter, and the simple joy that comes from getting their hands in the soil. Gardening is more than just planting flowers. It encourages creativity, sparks memories, promotes relaxation, and provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors together.

As flowers bloom throughout the season, they will serve as a beautiful reminder of the care, teamwork, and happiness that went into creating them.

Sometimes the best moments are the simplest ones.

🎶🇺🇸 Music, Memories, and Memorial Day Fun! 🇺🇸🎶

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day filled with music, laughter, and plenty of patriotic spirit thanks to the talented Rob Crozier (Rob Sings For You).

A regular performer at the famous Weber's Ann Arbor, Rob brought his incredible one-man band show to Manoogian Manor and had everyone smiling from start to finish. Playing guitar, harmonica, and even jingle bells, he kept the crowd entertained with classic favorites and sing-along songs that brought back cherished memories.

Residents enjoyed timeless tunes like Down by the Riverside, Amazing Grace, When the Saints Go Marching In, My Girl, Working on the Railroad, and selections from artists such as Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson. Rob even treated everyone to his famous horse impression, which brought plenty of laughs throughout the afternoon!

A special thank you to Rachel for helping many of our residents get dressed up in festive patriotic gear, adding even more fun and color to a memorable Memorial Day celebration.

At Manoogian Manor, music has a special way of bringing people together, sparking memories, and creating moments of joy. This was certainly one of those afternoons we will be talking about for a long time.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

At Manoogian Manor, this day holds deep meaning for many of our residents, families, and staff. Some served themselves. Others loved someone who did. Their stories, sacrifices, and memories continue to live on through the generations.

Today is not only about remembrance, but also gratitude. Gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy, the courage shown by so many, and the moments we are able to share together because of those who served.

As we gathered throughout the day with music, conversation, flags, and reflection, we were reminded once again how important it is to preserve these memories and honor those who came before us.

From all of us at Manoogian Manor, thank you to the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, and to the families who carry their legacy forward every day. ❤️🤍💙

Still smiling from Kurt’s 101st birthday celebration ❤️ Watching Kurt enjoy one of his favorite games with his son by his side reminded us that joy truly has no age limit…

🎉 101 years young and still knocking it out of the park! 🎉

Our resident Kurt recently celebrated his 101st birthday in unforgettable fashion by knocking down a massive tower built with over 101 cups! Since this is one of Kurt’s favorite games, he got the VIP treatment and had the whole challenge to himself while his son proudly cheered him on. 😊

A huge shout-out goes to Bryce, who spent part of his weekend lunch break carefully building this incredible tower just for Kurt. Watching it all come crashing down brought pure excitement, laughter, and youthful joy to everyone in the room.

Moments like these remind us that fun, anticipation, and celebration are what keep us feeling young at heart. ❤️

And the celebration didn’t stop there! Kurt’s birthday week continued with Men’s Club and live music later in the week with Benny from Benny and the Jets.

Happy 101st Birthday, Kurt! 🥳

🎹🎶 Rock n’ roll was alive and well at Manoogian Manor yesterday!

We were thrilled to enjoy a private concert from Detroit Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Benny of Benny & The Jets (Benny Jets Detroit). Despite the weather changing our plans for the official patio opening party...we partied anyway! 😄

Residents sang along, tapped their toes, and soaked in an evening filled with great music, laughter, and fun memories together. Benny brought incredible energy to the Manor and helped turn a gloomy day into a fantastic celebration.

Now we’ve got our fingers crossed for sunshine and an official patio opening on June 1st! ☀️

Until then, the music and smiles will keep us going strong here at Manoogian Manor. ❤️
