Getting with the trend, WoodBridge is joining in on the Senior Sunday to Celebrate our Seniors. Shirley graduated from Laketon High School in 1962. She then went back to college to get a nursing degree and became an R.N. at 50 years of age.

Today weā€™re celebrating all the wonderful things dogs bring into our livesā€”and we canā€™t forget our very own Freddie, the WoodBridge Therapy Dog! šŸ¶

Freddie is truly a special treat for our residents. His visits bring smiles, laughter, comfort, and a little extra joy to their day. Thereā€™s just something about the unconditional love of a dog that can brighten a room and warm a heart. ā¤ļø

And itā€™s not just our residents who love Freddieā€”our families and staff enjoy seeing him too! He has a special way of bringing everyone together and creating those sweet moments that become wonderful memories.

We are so lucky to have Freddie as part of the WoodBridge family. šŸ¾šŸ”

Creative Cooking on Legacy Lane!
Our crew had a sweet time making Peanut Blossoms! Everyone pitched in to help make the mix, flatten out the cookies, and, of course, we couldnā€™t forget the most important partā€¦ taste-testing our delicious creations!
We had lots of fun working together and enjoying the fruits (or should we say cookies?!) of our labor.

šŸ¦† George Got to Live a Dream! ā¤ļø

Today was a very special surprise for Georgeā€”and one we will never forget! We gave him clues along the way, and Lauren and Crystal came up with Clue #1: a camouflage shirt and hat. šŸŽ£šŸ¦†

Then it was off to Clue #2ā€”meeting up with an old friend, the person who takes care of someone very special to George.

And then came the final surpriseā€¦ BUBBA! šŸ¾ā¤ļø

Bubba is Georgeā€™s old duck-hunting companion and his beloved hunting dog. The smile on Georgeā€™s face when he saw him said it all. He couldnā€™t believe that Bubba is still going strong at 14 years old!

George will tell you, ā€œThat was my hunting buddy.ā€ Hearing George and his friend reminisce about Bubba was absolutely priceless. George talked about how Bubba was the best hunting dog he ever had. He would get right into the waterā€”even when it was freezing coldā€”because thatā€™s what a good hunting dog does!

And George will also proudly tell you, ā€œI paid good money for that dog!ā€

Did you know there is such a thing as a British Labrador Retriever? Well, neither did I until today! Thatā€™s Bubbaā€™s breed, and George sure knew what a special dog he had all those years ago.

Dogs truly are a manā€™s best friend, and the bond between George and Bubba is proof of that. ā¤ļøšŸ¶šŸ¦†

Today wasnā€™t just a visitā€”it was a chance for George to live a dream, revisit some wonderful memories, and spend time with his best hunting buddy one more time.

šŸŽ£ Catch Ya!!! šŸŸ

Just hanging out by the fish pond trying to catch some fishā€¦ not really! But these little guys sure are a wonderful addition to our courtyard!

This is year two, and we still have our original six fish! We were also lucky enough to have a staff member donate one of their childā€™s fair fish to us, bringing our total to seven!

Our residents love taking care of the fish, watching them swim, and helping feed them. It has become such a fun and relaxing part of our courtyard!

But now weā€™re wonderingā€¦ Will seven still be enough next year? We may have to expand the pond!

Our residents journeyed to Lafayette for a wonderful afternoon at the Columbia Park Zoo!

From petting the goats to searching for the owls and enjoying all the sights and sounds of the zoo, our residents had such a fun time making memories together. We love getting out and about and enjoying new adventures with our residents!
