We’re proud to recognize Linda Mason, MD, and the late Leonard Bailey, MD, who were named among INLAND EMPIRE MAGAZINE’s “50 Players Who Shaped the Region” in the publication’s 50th Anniversary issue.
Linda Mason, MD, professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at LLU and director of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, has dedicated her career to advancing pediatric anesthesia and improving the safety of surgery for infants and children. Throughout her distinguished career, she has led Loma Linda's pediatric Aanesthesiology program for nearly four decades, served as president of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, has trained future generations of physicians, and helped shape national education and certification standards in pediatric anesthesia. Through her leadership, education, and mentorship, Dr. Mason's impact has extended far beyond Loma Linda, helping influence the care of children through the physicians she has trained across the country. Inland Empire Magazine recognized her as "a leader in development of pediatric anesthesia to make surgery safer for infants and children."
Also recognized was Leonard Bailey, MD, whose pioneering contributions to pediatric heart surgery transformed the field and continue to leave a lasting impact on children's healthcare around the world.
Congratulations to Dr. Mason on this well-deserved recognition, and to the late Dr. Bailey, whose remarkable legacy continues to inspire generations of healthcare professionals.
