"Why do we practice letting go?" 🍂 If you’ve ever lost someone you love, this Zen story is for you. We practice letting go not to become cold, but to wake ourselves up to the present. The pain of loss reminds us of a beautiful truth: our time together is temporary, which makes it infinitely precious. Appreciate the people standing right in front of you. ✨

The ending piano is played by pianist Charlotte Hu.

“Abide Nowhere, Let the Heart Arise” | 應無所住而生其心 🪷

I performed this piece as a surprise encore at Taipei’s National Concert Hall—a moment especially meaningful to me.

From the Diamond Sutra, 「應無所住而生其心」means, “Let the heart arise without abiding anywhere.” It points to a heart free from attachments. When we let go of what we cling to, the heart can arise with greater clarity, freedom, and compassion.

Grateful to share this moment of stillness and inner resonance through music. ✨

We often become trapped in the narrow illusion of right and wrong—almost always convinced that "I am right, and you are wrong." We forget that in the vastness of life, a kind heart is far more important than a correct mind.

In ancient times, people laughed at the man who looked up and worried the sky was falling.

Today, in the rapidly shifting era of Artificial Intelligence, that fear no longer feels foolish. For many of us, the sky truly feels as though it is collapsing. As we face the uncertainty of tomorrow's livelihood, it is easy to feel swept away—powerless and helpless against the rushing currents of time and technology.

But you do not have to be carried away by the flood.

Zen offers an anchor in the storm. We cannot control the winds of change, but we can control how we stand within them.

The sky is not falling; it is simply changing. Breathe, center yourself, and let us find our grounding together.

On the Zen path, it is natural to sometimes lose motivation and fall into complacency. However, when we witness the suffering in life—whether our own, that of our loved ones, or of total strangers—and realize our profound helplessness in the face of it, empathy awakens a deep resolve within us. We are naturally driven to seek a path that can bring an end to all suffering.
