Our homeschoolers often enjoy math games to practice mathematical concepts. This week, we’ve been playing games to reinforce counting, number identification, addition and subtraction to 20, rounding to various place value positions, and writing numbers in expanded form! 🤩

Math games turn abstract numbers into active, engaging challenges. They build computational fluency, boost retention, and lower math anxiety by replacing repetitive worksheets with playful problem-solving and social interaction.

Today was National Mushroom 🍄 Day! We enjoyed finding and closely examining various mushrooms growing in our neighborhood. We found many types of kinds of mushrooms and learned about their anatomy and functions. The kids enjoyed comparing the different parts of the mushrooms and learning about how some mushrooms are toxic and others are used for food and medicine! 🍄‍🟫

We played Place Value War using Uno cards to create the largest number possible and then compared numbers up to the thousands! 🤩
This math game is fun for all ages, as the younger kids simply used less cards to create and compare numbers.

Our homeschoolers often play games and practice hands-on activities (led by a certified teacher and homeschooling moms) that reinforce math concepts, which makes learning FUN!

Our homeschoolers learned about science forces on the playground and enjoyed a field trip to the tallest playground in New York state! 🤩 Playgrounds are full of real-world physics, where common equipment demonstrates fundamental science concepts like gravity, friction, pushes and pulls, and simple machines.

Our kids had a great time exploring our new electric cardboard cutter tool! They planned and designed their cardboard creations and then carefully cut precise lines using this fun and kid-friendly power tool! 🤩
