Alynn Cauldwell, LMFT I Am an EMDR certified therapist. I offer a supportive, interactive, and non-judgmental atmosphere in which to help you deal with issues that are troubling you.

Whether you are struggling with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, job and career concerns, substance abuse, or the problems of life's inevitable stressors, my 11 years of clinical experience provide a depth of understanding to help you facilitate the changes you want to make. As a licensed marriage and family therapist I offer short-term and long-term counseling as well as EM

DR therapy. I have worked extensively in outpatient clinics with diverse populations, with individuals and couples with a wide variety of problems that affect their relationships, functioning, and growth. I like to see each person as an individual with their own unique set of strengths and circumstances. I am also a certified yoga teacher, RYT 200, and offer a place to learn tools for wellness utilizing yoga therapy sessions to teach asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and guided relaxation and meditation to aid clients in healing body, mind, and spirit.

🧠 Your Nervous System Has Different Survival States

According to Polyvagal Theory, the vagus nerve plays an important role in how we respond to safety and stress.

✨ Ventral Vagal: We feel safe, connected, calm, social, and present.

⚡ Sympathetic: Our fight-or-flight system activates. We may feel anxious, restless, angry, or on high alert.

🛑 Dorsal Vagal: When stress feels overwhelming, we may shut down, disconnect, feel numb, exhausted, or withdrawn.

Healing from trauma often includes helping the nervous system recognize: “I am safe now.”

Through grounding, connection, breathing, mindfulness, and trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR, we can begin moving toward greater regulation and safety.

Shame is often one of trauma’s quietest wounds.

Trauma can leave people believing, “Something is wrong with me,” when the truth is that shame is often a response to what happened—not a reflection of who you are.

Shame can show up as:
• Feeling “not good enough”
• Blaming yourself for the past
• Difficulty accepting love or compliments
• Perfectionism and people-pleasing
• Wanting to hide parts of yourself
• Feeling unworthy of healthy relationships

Healing from trauma includes learning to separate what happened to you from who you are.

With trauma-focused therapy and EMDR, it is possible to process painful experiences, challenge deeply held negative beliefs, and begin replacing shame with self-compassion.

You are more than what happened to you. Healing is possible.
