Vulnerable post.
Often I get asked the question “Marisol, girl you stay busy. How do you manage it all?”
Truth is, I’m a perfectionist to a fault. Growing up my mom always told us we can do anything we wanted and how I received that message was. You have to do it all. Yes, my plate is often full.
Although I’ve done a lot of inner work. I still struggle to pump my own breaks. Yes, I take regular breaks from births. Quarterly actually, 3 months on call and 1 month off call. But life happens. Unexpected things always find me. Whether it’s my kids, my mom, school, regular calls and texts from students, client’s etc…
Here’s a look at real life.
September is my busiest month w family stuff. It’s also the busiest baby season. And I just started my second term in midwifery school.
Today was my youngest sons bday festivities. I have homework due by tomorrow night.
My house is a hot mess. We cleaned out my sons room and I have 4 donation bags to get rid off.
My son came home from summer camp almost 3 weeks ago. I’ve yet to take the luggage to storage.
I have a huge return for floor chairs I purchased for (wrong color). Had to take that giant box out of my car so I could fit 4 kids in my car today.
There’s a Halloween bag I have to put away. And I have a standing desk I purchased 2 months ago I still haven’t built. That is life.
So my friends, we are all out here doing the best we can. And sometimes things will fall by the wayside. And that’s ok. I’m doing the best I can.
I’ll enjoy a little Greys Anatomy while I do homework.
You’re all doing a great job. And your babies love you more than anything in the world!
