We are open
Market Update:
ALL HAFM MARKETS REMAIN OPEN.
All Harbor Area Farmers Markets will remain open. We are an essential service and exempt from closure at this time, because people gotta eat!
With the state mandates ordering cancellations of large public gatherings, many have asked how this is affecting farmers markets. Informed by statewide food policy experts, the consensus is that itโs a great time to support farmers markets as they pose less of a risk to public health than grocery stores. Many farmers markets in the state have temporarily closed, which adds stress to the local food system, farmers and their staff. We want to support them, along with our communities who depend on us. All of our markets accept Cal Fresh via EBT cards which continues to the best way to spend those food benefits.
All said, we must be vigilant and safe. Here are a few things we are doing:
Social distancing (customers should give each other 6')
No sampling
No seating areas
Extra public hand wash stations
Vendor hand wash stations
All vendors bring hand sanitizer, water and hand soap, gloves and tissue.
As always - if you are sick, stay home!
Stay safe, keep your distance and wash your hands!!!
